I understand that you run the risk of a mechanical failure when going out on the water, but it is so much more than that when something is a known problem and there has been little perceived effort by Nautique to correct the problem. Just offering a replacement shaft hasn't been much of a solution in my opinion.
It's also not a quick fix for some that don't have a boat dealer close by. My closest dealer is 3.5 hours away. That's two 7 hour drives. That's two different 2.5 hour trips to go pick the boat up and drop it back off at the lake to put on the lift. None of it is the end of the world, but time is one of those things I can't ever seem to find enough of!

I’m sure I’m the only one but I have a different opinion on this broken shaft issue. Sure it might have you stranded on the water or mess up a big weekend but in the grand scheme of things it is only one of many things that may and will break on any boat over time. A broken shaft is fairly uncommon and it’s a relatively quick fix. Nautique has repaired all shafts under warranty no matter the hours on the boat from what I have read on this forum. I have owned 5 G23’s and broke my first shaft at 495 hours on a 17. Of all the boat repairs I have had over the years this was one of the fastest repairs. I would like to see the problem eliminated by Nautique but I’m just saying how many people on this forum had had a problem that caused them to be stranded or take a boat in for repair.

Much higher in my opinion too. I emailed everyone at Nautique I had an email address for and did get a call back. I don't think anyone would actually admit the failure rate to be honest with you, but it's high enough that they said they would continue to replace these under warranty even after the warranty expires. I'd like to see some more definitive documentation or statement that they will, but for now have to take his word. So that's definitely a positive for some that have these G's with expiring warranties.
"Supposedly" he said they have it figured out, but I'm not sure I'm buying it. He told me that they are just now shipping a new shaft from a completely new supplier. He said that they have been testing them extensively and have yet to break a shaft from the new supplier and have modified the keyway in the shaft somewhat. Whether that's the case or not we will just have to see. I'd like to believe it's true, but I feel like I've read a similar story on this thread earlier and obviously have my doubts.

Also curious about any boats outside the U.S.....and if any were Coastal Edition with the James Bond submarine attack spinner feature.

Be reminded as somebody else said on this forum, that most people that own these boats are not on this forum. So you cannot count based on this forum.
