sarasetp are you using an iphone? If so, the forum members have determined android phones work with the legavy (old) app but not iphones.

Thanks for the clarification. Yes, I'm with an iphone. Argh!

Can someone try to download an add on app or watchface into the Pebble app and confirm whether you can do so or not.

        Can anyone confirm this?

Also--From what I've seen here and elsewhere online, it seems you need 2.8.1 or 2.9.1; not sure if this helps.

I asked a friend with an android to try get the old Pebble app on his phone and then the Nautique NSS Pebble app loaded. I'll try to remember to update this when I know if he was able to get it to work...

I had no problem downloading Nautique Surf Select software onto my Pebble Time and Pebble 2 SE watches. The more current models . I ordered several of these models because I know some of them will end up on the bottom of the lake. The Nautique Surf Select is not an app upon itself but functions through the General Pebble Watch App on my IPhone. Hope this was helpful.

You were able to do the whole process with an iPhone? For a 2016 G? Or were you not doing the downgrade part--as in for a 2017? Thanks.

Yes I did whole process through IPhone. I didnt have to downgrade to any lower version firmware . My boat is a 2017 vs 2016 so I dont know if that makes a difference or not

I think it does. I know for sure the latest and greatest FW on the Pebble work fine with 2017s. Even boats with LINC 2.0. I need someone to test this conclusively, but I believe that 2016s require the older FW on the Pebble.

With the Pebble Classic watch that I purchased around Christmas for my 2016 G23, before the Fitbit acquisition, I was successful in downgrading the watch to work with a 2016 G23, theoretically (since my G23 is in storage so I couldnt test it). That is, I was able to get the NSS app onto my Ipad back around Christmas. But fast forward to a couple of weeks ago with the second Pebble Classic that I recently purchased, after the Fitbit acquisition, it seems that the older Pebble App (required for the downgrade firmware process for 2016 G23 owners) is no longer able to download any watch apps like NSS, which I tried with my iphone. Fitbit must have turned off the ability for IOS users to download apps into the "older" version of the Pebble app. Luckily, I still have the NSS app downloaded into the older Pebble app on my ipad which I did back around Christmas before the Fitbit acquisition. Because I did this before the Fitbit acquisition, I still have the NSS app. I simply snycd my second watch and got the NSS app onto it. This is a long way of saying that for IOS users, if you had downloaded the NSS app into the "older" Pebble App for the firmware downgrade, as needed for 2016 G23 owners, you are in good shape. But if you have not already downloaded it onto your IOS device, you will not be able to get the NSS app onto you watch because Fitbit must have turned off the ability to download any apps into the "older" version of the Pebble app.

Yea, but you can get it cheaper. Just go to eBay and search for "Pebble Classic." They seem to be running around $35 there.

New Apple Watch Series 2 water resistant to 50m.

This is where Nautique needs to be focusing a new surf app towards!

I'm not sure that will solve the problem though. The problem is manipulating a touch-screen with wet fingers. I know Nautique went with the Pebble originally for the hard buttons specifically.

I figured this out with an eBay pebble using just iPhone

                              - download newest pebble app
                              - upgrade to newest firmware
                              - download NSS app
                              - follow nautique pdf to downgrade firmware
                              - switch back to old pebble app

in fairness I haven't got to pair yet but I have a watch with NSS app on FW 2.9.1
