2016 G's and Pebble

Nautique should open up the App development, so that developers can develop the app for several different watches (e.g. Garmin, Suunto, Fitbit).

I have a Garmin Fenix 5, which has hard buttons and is fully programmable - should be real easy to port the Pebble functionality to a Garmin watch. Fenix 5 watches are far tougher/waterproof than Apple Watch (100 metres), have way longer battery life (2 weeks) and have 4 existing buttons.

I have seen nothing from Nautique regarding what they propose to do for 2018 and onwards - shouldn't be this tough given how long its been since Pebble failed.

Nobody has. In fact, we don't even know if the existing Pebble watches will work with 2018s. As near as I can tell, nobody here that has one of the early 2018s has tried it yet and Nautique isn't saying a thing.

When Pebble was first sold over to FitBit, there were some posts here from "people close to Nautique" saying that "something great was coming" but that was it. Nothing since then. This is a pretty big deal for me and the crew I usually take surfing. We love the Pebble integration so much that pretty much nobody wants to surf without it anymore. We even drove back to the dock one day because I forgot I left it charging there.

I don't think this is an option for Apple Watch. It's all touch screen and that doesn't work very well with wet fingers. I'm pretty sure that's why Nautique went with Pebble in the first place.

I have a Pebble watch that I am trying to sync with my 2016 G23. The instructions to downgrade the firmware seem pretty self-explanatory. However, it appears that the link to the software in the pebble downgrade instructions no longer provides access to the software. It says the file cannot be found, whether you try to open it on your phone or on a computer. I need access to the Pebble Firmware v.2.8.1 for V3R3. Does anyone still have the file that they can provide to me or contact info for someone who does? It does not appear that pebblebits.com is still operating. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

So your options are becoming very limited. The Pebble servers are going offline. At this point, Rebble is probably going to be your best bet:

I just went through my archives and I have Firmware v.2.8.1. The board won't let me attach it here. PM me your email address and I'll send it that way.

OK, I just emailed you the v.2.8.1 firmware. I'm certain you're going to have to be on this version for a MY2016 boat. That year required the old version of the NSS App, which only ran on that FW. I understand you had to sort through Rebble to get the other parts. If you get all of this going, could I get you to write up the steps here?

I was able to download v.2.9.1 off through Rebble. My pebble is now running v.2.9.1 from the firmware I got on rebble and pairs with the old version of the pebble app for iphone. I will not be able to confirm whether my pebble actually syncs with my 2016 G23 until Friday or Saturday. If it works, I will definitely post the steps because it was pretty easy to load.

Don’t you need the v2.8.1 vs the v 2.9.1 to sync your 2016 G 23. Why did you load the newer version ; it will not work on the 2016 models

I need the firmware downgrade for hardware version "snowy23". I got the firmware that Charles mentioned and it's for (among others) hardware version "V3R3" and it doesn't work. Maybe I need to go to completely reload an new Pebble App?? FYI, I'm on android, emailed myself the file and it worked as far as trying to open but the Pebble update fails "the firmare is not compatible with the current watch". That's why I assume it's the hardware version.
Already a few hours into this... appreciate any help.
