    2016 G's and Pebble

Ok I'm about a month from picking up my 2016 G23 so I was wondering if those that already have theirs could answer a question about the Pebble. I have heard that you need and "older" style Pebble and not the newer or more optioned one? Just want to make sure I have everything ready to go, thanks!

We have the pebble steel and it seems to work fine. Have heard that other models have had water issues

Original Pebble, and original Pebble steel only......

Pebble time, and pebble round (and time steel etc.) will NOT work. Ask me how I know

They're referring to the Pebble Watch. It's the waterproof smart watch that will interface with the new '16 Linc system so that the surfer has more control. Through the watch, the rider can control the NSS settings, boat speed, side to side transfers, and music volume. All of this does require the Nautique Surf Select system which is an option. If the boat has that option, it will also come with a hand held remote that can operate the side to side transfers only (the light blue remote). The Pebble watch is something you have to buy on your own though. And some people have had problems getting some of the Pebble watch models to work correctly with the Nautique system. Here's a video that shows these features a little bit.

And I thought the $900 I spent for the remote was actually a pebble watch that would do all of this. Instead I get a small remote that will allow me to switch sides, AND I get to buy my own pebble watch, the one that is already outdated. The one that comes with a leather wristband, for water use. The one that is pretty well useless for regular watch use because the battery lasts for 5 days. And when this watch no longer works, I won't be able to find another one.

I thought Nauti was smarter. I have said in the past that I dread the day in 12 years when this boat is perfectly functional except for the fact the boat is unusable because all of the electronics in it are unreplaceable.

But that's why you keep it for the 5 year warranty (or less in your case) then trade or sell and get a new one! :P But I agree...only for me, I'm not too interested in the watch anyways. All I cared about was having the transfer function in my own hands so the remote works fine for me!

Controling the stereo from the watch will probably be the most used feature for me.

You spent $900 for the remote? How do you figure? FYI, the pebble watch is not outdated. It is still listed for sale on the website and you can easily buy new. The original pebble does NOT have a leather band. It is rubber and that is the model they recommend. There is no need for them to replace that version yet, but once they do, I'm sure it will be compatible with the Nautique.

$900 must be what he paid for Nautique Surf Select (was $718 option for me). I believe he was stating that he paid for that option thinking it included the watch too, but only got the remote. Granted, in all fairness, you're actually mostly paying for the software that allows use and compatibility of the remote and the watch, which without this "$900" option, isn't available.

Just picked up the boat today and my pebble watch. After I had updated the watch with the newest firmware I noticed on the app page that you should not go past firmware 2.9.1. Anyway to go back to the older firmware?

Yes, MSRP for the option is $886. If Nautique wants to inflate prices to me, then I do it back to them when it seems we aren't getting our money's worth. I did think it would include the watch, but I will just go grab another Benjamin from the tree in my backyard and buy one.

So I guess when you go to the website, I would purchase the 'classic' version, or pebble steel. That is not to be confused with 'TIme Steel' which is a new one that won't work. The first one that comes up with pebble steel was with a leather wristband, so that is where I go the idea, I guess. But it is also available in a metal band or the original with a plastic band.

FYI, I bought the original in white. It has a strap that is comfortable when wet.
The white watch contrasts with the black face which makes it easier to see, especially in motion and in the sun. Good luck.

Tried the pebble watch today and it is super impressive. I was pessimistic bc the Polk Audio App on my iphone is a complete disaster. By far the worst feature of the boat. Complete failure to the point of almost insulting.

Has anyone else had trouble getting their Pebble Watch to sync with their boat?
