man, that is a huge bummer. I wonder if the 2018's will have the same issue.

Add me to the list of those effected by this issue. Last Thursday my 17 G23 with 30 hrs on it snapped its shaft while cruising down the middle of the lake. Same as others.... first a shutter, then no prop. 5 1/2 hours later its was finally sitting on the lift and is now waiting for a new shaft and prop.

I fully expect a few glitches and such with a new boat but this issue should not be happening.

Yeah, my confusion is I thought that upgrading from 1-1/8 to 1-1/4 fixed the problem...But quite obviously it did not. I think at this point we can conclusively say it did NOTHING.

Since they came about, I have always liked forums like Planet Nautique. For whatever topic or product I am "into", they are an unequaled source of information, fellowship, humor, etc. Having said all of this, they can be a bit depressing as well. When one reads about all of the prop-shaft failures early on, and now to see them reoccurring...it is both depressing and concerning...

Any idea on what brand of shaft they are using? Lot's of stainless steel comes from China now, and the quality is all over the place. They will give you any specification paper work you want. But it will be the same part. We have this problem in industry all the time with stainless steel valves. China last 2 years USA last 5 plus but does cost more. Both valves are supposedly made to the same specification. Maybe this is the same type of problem with the shafts? Hope they get it all figured out soon.

Agreed, the problem has come back. My neighbors 2017 G21 had this happen as well. I asked my dealer about it and they've seen 2 so far this summer.

Holy ****, I'll repeat my comment from the TSB thread on the fuel line routing issue. How can Nautique NOT take better care of its customers on such a high end product? They are willfully pissing off people who are dishing out 150k for toys? Unreal.

The problem has not gone away. It just happened to me. I was going down the middle of the lake, felt the boat shudder for a few seconds, then the boat started slowing down. I talked to the dealer and they said the problem had gone away around 2013 but now they are seeing it again.Click image for larger version Name:	Prop G23.jpg Views:	1 Size:	47.6 KB ID:	531356

How can this happen multiple times to multiple people and CC not pay 100% of cost to fix

Yeah, the shaft must be able to be pulled/worked thru both the dripless shaft seal and the strut (strut bearing)...without too much trouble.

p.s. I relooked at the bill showed 4 hours labor ($476.00) for labor...with parts provided by nautique
