Actually this video is very good. Shows how to use a tool to remove coupler on both direct and vdrives. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qjvc7gPfWzA

Can someone do a write up on how to replace? I think it is pretty simple. I can tell from former owner service record it is drop rudder, and remove coupler...Maybe that is all there is too it...

Just out of morbid curiosity, how much is labor to replace the shaft?

I think for 2018 you can get your Nautique trolling motor, I mean integrated get to your "dock assist unit" in Admiral Blue, Solar Red, Admiral Blue Metal Flake, Masters Blue Metal Flake, Victory Red Metal Flake and Medallion Metal Flake.

Thats funny... But at the same time not at all funny. Nautiques need to fix this before this image becomes the most popular meme/profile pic/signature on malibu or mastercraft sites and social media.

wow that's super scary, most people don't have enough anchor line to safely catch the boat in that depth of water. Seems they need to go up to 2" shaft, no issues with my 2010 210 343 450+ hours.

One of my buddies one cove over has a 2017 G21 with about 70 hours on it so far. All he noticed was a slight vibration at speed. Brought it home and looked but he was looking for a ding in his prop, not a cracked drive shaft. Put it back in the water and made it less than 1/2 mile before the shaft sheared off.

I was at Lake Powell this week with a buddy. I have a 2017 G23. He has a 2016 G23. Both with the 550. We left a couple days before they were going to leave. He ran up to a place called Dangling rope. 30 or so miles up the lake from where we stay. While up there he broke his shaft again. He was stranded over night until he could get signal enough to call for tow services. After a 5 hour tow the next day he is finally back. He then told me this is the second time it has happened!! Not sure what happened the 1st time but he is pissed now. Ruined his whole week with his kids and grandkids. He has a great relation with the dealer so I will let you know what they say. His words to me were " I never want to see this boat again. I have no confidence that it won't leave me stranded again." Reading all of the others that this has happened to makes me a little nervous.

Hey guys - I am the original owner of the boat. For the first 2 times Nautique sent me a new shaft and prop, since after the shaft snaps... it's gone forever on my 120+ ft lake.

I do a lot of hours on my boat, but so far shaft breaks +/- after the same ammount of hours.

I am waiting for an answer from them about my 3rd one...
