Brian Sullivan - Can you compare the wave quality with your angles to the 90 degree suc-gate most are making?

Brian Sullivan Did you make that adjustable L bracket or did you buy that somewhere and just attach it? Have you experimented with the size of the plate as well as the angle or just the angle with that same plate? I should be picking up a 2005 SANTE this week and getting ready to make one of these. I want to make it adjustable as well to find that perfect angle. I'm just wondering about the plate size now.

Here's mine I copied one of the first ones but didn't like the straight 90 degree angle felt like it wasn't efficient and just dragged too much so I made an adjustable one and copied Malibu's surf gate size. Im running it on a 2001 SAN so we need more help surfing the port side than the starboard side which is where the adjustment comes in. As for the angle to the side of the boat it can be adjusted between 10-40 degrees the sweet spot for the port side seems to be right in the middle around 20-25 degrees. I attached pictures with some of the dimensions if anyone wanted them.

Your probably right that the stock tanks are 400lbs. I wasn't exactly sure what they were as its my father in laws boat. I wouldn't worry about running another 1200 lbs of water, that's nothing for these boats.

Our 2004 216 I believe has 400 lbs stock tanks, which we'll fill. I haven't purchased any additional ballast bags but that is in the plan. Hope to build a wake shaper in the next day or two to try out with just the stock ballast this weekend. Admittedly, i'm a bit "timid" in the idea of driving our boat with that much additional weight for the simple fact that i've never driven our boat with remotely that much more weight and have heard about the boats driving "sketchy," with tons of weight. Plus our model 216 has the gas vent on the starboard side which I have to keep in mind as to not get below that level.

Was your Air 216 weighted down with ballast, if so how much weight?

I've got one on the way, looking forward to trying out. I agree with the post that was a few above, I emailed late Saturday night, thinking they would get It on Monday, but they replied within about 10 minutes. I'm out west and it was fairly late, and they are on the east coast, so very late there. Great folks to deal with 👍🏻 looking forward to trying it out on my '04 211. I'm hoping that it will help with the starboard wake, as my prop rotates opposite.
