Has anyone tried one of these gates on a 230 yet? I loaned mine to a friend with a 230 this morning and he couldn't get it low enough in the water to do anything other than make a bunch of splash.

Ordered my "quick shift" gate pictured above today. Cant wait to try it out.

Ha, dang. I had the same idea for an adjustable gate. I have all the materials and pins purchased but haven't have a chance to make it due to work.

Now that is more like it!! I may need to invest in this guy. He is more reasonable and serves our Country...Originally posted by SAN210PatNew company selling adjustable wake shapers for a fraction of the price of delta and ronix.

V-Drive 2005 Centurion. Don't know length of tether or where it was tied to. To my knowledge he used the same style suction cups that others have been using when making these things...don't know exact name brand. It obviously isn't "an impossibility" cause it in fact did happen. I wasn't on the boat when it happened because I was there on my own boat. Just trying to pass on a caution. None of us that day ever thought of it happening as probably most on here but it did so I wanted to give everyone a heads-up.Originally posted by wakejunky View PostIt would be nice to get more details on the accident so, we can learn from it. Was it on a direct drive? how long was the tether? what suction cups did they use etc. I can see it popping off and flipping up and possibly hitting the rear deck but, flipping all the way into a v-drive passenger area seems like an impossibility.Last edited by SurfingCane; 07-06-2016, 11:50 AM.

Don't tether it to the boat but a buoy. If it lets go it goes in the water.

You guys be careful with these "gates" you're making. Had a friend on Kerr Lake make one for his Centurion last week. They took it out this weekend, dialed it in, and had been surfing for while. All of a sudden it came loose and the tether caused it to swing around and hit someone in the face that was sitting at the back of the boat. Broken nose and severe laceration to the face. Was a freak accident but wanted to caution everyone on the possibility of what could happen. Be safe and have fun.

Try reversing the position of the front panel and mounting the Delta so the front panel is closest to the stern and as low as possible (even lower than the picture). I have a 1999 Pro Air and mine rooster tailed until I reversed the front panel and got it as low as possible on the hull. Also I found (at least with my hull anyway) that even weighting vs.leaning to one side also helped minimize the rooster tail. I am using factory ballast (400 lbs) and usually have 3 to 4 people in the boat and run around 10.5 mph.Originally posted by cnorrod View PostFinally got my mission delta in last Friday and tried it over the weekend. It does make a difference in the wake, but didn't fit my 07 SANTE 200 real well. It rooster tails a lot. Needs to be set lower in the water , but can't because of the hull shape. If you can make one I would try it. Just my two cents.
Still need more river time to fine tune but it gives me a wake that is more than adequate..Last edited by a0128; 07-03-2016, 03:09 PM.

I put a bolt through the lever for the suction cup. Helps give a little leverage to get the lever engaged.Originally posted by wakejunkyI'm having a hard time getting the inner suction cup lever to clamp down. It takes some strong fingers in order to get it to clamp down. Is there an easy mod to make it any easier?

I have the thickness of the rubber suction on mine as a gap. You wouldn't ever know it with the wake. Works like a champ.Originally posted by s_kelley2000With the home made suck-gate are you guys leaving a small gap between the edge of the plate and the hull? or is the plate right up against the hull? If it's right up against the hull have you noticed any problems with scratching? Got my parts in the mail and going to make mine up tomorrow. I'm leaning toward leaving a small gap between the hull or putting something soft on the edge to prevent scratching. Any input would be great,
