There are definitely people who can troubleshoot the circuit board in the gateway and repair/solder the faulty capacitor or component, we just have to find the right person. There was a guy on this thread a few years ago who expressed interest in having someone with a bad one send it to him to work on, but I don't think he ever posted again about it. Mine is still operating at this point, but this is the path I intend to go down when and if it does quit working. It would be a much easier solution than swapping out gauges, not to mention a fraction of the cost.Last edited by obd666; 05-08-2020, 10:49 AM.

I'd guess the best path forward would be to find a one man specialist who'd be interested in reverse engineering the box and then create a niche business rebuilding them for owners like us. Kinda like what the GT40 guys did for their ECU problem.
I know I would pay pretty decent bucks to get my box repaired vs have to swap out the gauges.
Either this or we just have to suffer the neglect of Faria and Nautique who moved on years ago.
Posted via phone. Sorry for the tpyos.

It'd be great if you could come up with a solution like this. Especially when one gets to the point of having a dead gateway box, you kinda have nothing to lose.Originally posted by clsimmon View PostMy guess is that it's a capacitor in the Gateway (a .78 cent part) which is going to force us all to spend $1600 for a new gateway and gauges.

Good luck with getting help on this from either Faria or Nautique. I have been been round and round (politely) with both. Here is the response from Faria:
Hello Michael,
Im afraid we really won't be able to help with this. We are no longer set up to , test , repair , or manufacture the Gateway box or gateway instruments. It is something in the Gateway software that causes it but its not a product we can still support. Perhaps mounting a 2" LCD type hour meter near the engine to track maintenance hours would be a good option? There are brackets that you can get to mount it so it won't look bad. The actual hours should still be stored on the engines computer or ECU.
Very Respectfully,

As far as Nautique Customer Care/Ron Nace, he is nearly impossible to get a hold of and then acts like we can just go buy a new gateway at the dealer to fix things (actually said that in a reply).
(my hour meter won't go past 999.9). I know for a fact they provided a replacement gateway to another customer within the last few years at no cost, that fixed the issue. (#GW0021C is the updated part # for a 2008 SAN210/230 anyway).
I understand it's a 10 year old boat, but to not support these is crap. Theres not even a way to fix it. Even if you go with the expensive retro kit, the hour meter won't be correct, and those gauges look hideous. Sorry, rant over...

I have a 2006 226 Air Nautique Limited edition and my gateway box is located under dash behind the footwell panel and attached above. Perfect Pass is integrated so I don't have the pilot tubes but have same issues with gauges, Worked intermittently the last couple years and now nothing, I pulled the gateway box and inspected it and everything looked dry and clean. Next step is to replace a guage and see if that solves it, otherwise not sure which direction to go.Originally posted by BlkCrkNautiqe View PostAnyone know where the gateway is on a ‘06 226? Sounds like moisture is my problem.

All my gauges have now gone out as well on my 2006 226, and I don't backlighting for the gauges either. I am getting 8.2v on the red wire and 3.8 volts on the white wire.Originally posted by onthefly55 View PostHas anyone figured out the voltage that should be found at the gauge pigtails? My Oil pressure gauge quit 3 years ago and I found a replacement gauge at Faria Beede. Now my other gauges have all quit, fuel was intermittent, temp comes and goes. Voltage is also out. I opened my gateway box and it was very clean and dry. Sprayed contact cleaner on all plugs but saw no change. The gauges are 15 years old. I swapped gauge positions in the daisy chain and the 3 year old Oil Pressure gauge works in other positions. The voltage is 8.3 volts. At the Black ground and Red Wire on all positions. Is there a way to test the gauges? Any experience with this kind of issue ? Thanks for the thread!!!
I'm going to call Faria and get the Faria BUS schematic unless someone here has it. My guess is that it's a capacitor in the Gateway (a .78 cent part) which is going to force us all to spend $1600 for a new gateway and gauges.Last edited by clsimmon; 05-03-2020, 02:32 PM.

I finally got time to install my gauge kit from nautique parts this past week. Installation was a lot easier than i expected and after an hour on the water everything seem to work except for my speedometer. It still hasn't acquired satellite signal. I mounted it per the instructions. Has anyone had similar issues or what time frame should it take to acquire satellite signal?

I had the same issue. Depth gauge does not work after retrofit of replacement gauges.Originally posted by oldskiguy View PostJust plugged it in over the weekend and the depth gauge still doesn't work. Everything else seems to be the same. Did not connect the speedometer tubes..sealing them off to prevent any potential water damage.

I have a 2008 210 and the Gateway box is located in the helm, within 12 inches from the gauges.Originally posted by sfrasernz View PostMy 2008 SV211 TE has the same gauges so I assume there is a Gateway box located somewhere. I've looked all over the engine bay and storage lockers but haven't been able to locate. Do any SV211 owners know where it maybe? Some preventative maintenance is probably in order.

I had the exact issue 2 years ago, managed to solder it back in myself. At the time my depth gauge had stopped working and after replacing the transducer the consensus was that it wasn't working because of the gateway box. When I found the loose capacitor I thought that might be why, but reattaching it didn't correct my depth gauge issue and as best I can tell all other features are working. Curious if you had anything not working that started working once you got the capacity fixed?Originally posted by oldskiguy View PostOpened up the box on my 2005 Air NAutique 206 and found a loose capacitor bouncing around in the box. Took it to the dealer who had no idea what to do suggested I contact the Miami Nautiuqe guys. Sent them an email they just said buy the replacement. Ended up taking the unit to a local cell phone repair place and the guy did a great job of microsoldering the capacitor to the board with a new type of adhesive to hold it in place.
