Opened up the box on my 2005 Air NAutique 206 and found a loose capacitor bouncing around in the box. Took it to the dealer who had no idea what to do suggested I contact the Miami Nautiuqe guys. Sent them an email they just said buy the replacement. Ended up taking the unit to a local cell phone repair place and the guy did a great job of microsoldering the capacitor to the board with a new type of adhesive to hold it in place.

Nautique Parts has this note: NOTE: This does not convert the Perfect Pass. You will need to contact Perfect Pass directly for their gateway bypass kit for the cruise control.

I guess my question is in the 03, does this apply? Since the kit says it works for 03 to 09, I wasn't sure if they were talking about all years. Does the Perfect Pass tie into the failing gateway box in the 03?

    Thanks for any insight.
This is what I did... all new Faria Chesapeake gauges. GPS speedo eliminated the pitot tubes completely. Stargazer PP matches perfect. No regrets!

I had trouble with my gauges (entire dash actually) this weekend and had the buzzing alarm going consistently while pulling the kids tubing. I kept running anyways as I had oil pressure, voltage and water circulating. Was nervous as I had lost both engine temp gauges. Intermittent issues with my gauges have been around for some time now. Read this thread and investigated my gateway. Had water dripping out of the box so took it apart as described here. Had some corrosion within the circuit board, not everywhere but enough to be concerned. So cleaned it up as best I could and put it back together. Dumped the boat in tonight, she started right up, left it on the trailer for 5-10 minutes to ensure consistent operation. Had readings on all gauges so backed her off the trailer and put it to the test for 15-20 minutes. Ran great with all gauges responding and reading.

I am NOT hooking the speedo pitot tubes back up to the box, have them plugged and will use perfect pass for speed. These boats aren't made for speed anyway.

So happy right now. Thanks to the great advice and instruction from this group of guys. Well done!!

@tgi100 - my digital volt gauge doesn't work normally and the light doesn't come on either. However, after a hot day in the sun, the gauge will work. So yes, I believe the gauges can have problems beyond the Faria box and moisture is one of those problems. I disassembled my volt gauge (very difficult) and there was nothing exciting to see. So I inserted a silica packet in the void space at the bottom and reassembled. Haven't tested it yet.

    Shawn,

I recently purchased the same set for my 2006 220 SANTE. Any issues with your install? Also was your Gateway box in your engine compartment, I have not located it yet.

My 06 gauges are going too. The speedo stoped working along with the depth finder and fuel gauge. However yesterday after being on the water all day the depth finder did start working for about 15min before sticking at 5' so I restarted the boat and it once again showed nothing on the display. The temp and oil pressure work more so than not but its still hit and miss. All these gauges went out at once as they worked fine when I parked it in my garage for the winter. I upgraded the Perfect pass last year so I went ahed and ordered the gateway delete from Nautique Parts today. Don't forget to use the discount code if you order one too I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of the discount!

I recently had this same issue on a 2005 Limited 216 where my four smaller gauges quit working. The two larger gauges worked fine and I could scroll through the menu and read temperature, pressure etc. The small gauges had no lights but two large ones did.

Following the advice in this post, I looked at the Faria box but rather found it to be bone dry. I then took chance and bought a new fuel gauge. That fixed the problem and it has worked ever since for about a year now with no issue. I am now considering buying the other 3.

Bottom line: is there another possibility that these gauges all fail at about the same age and hour-use? This failure was correlated with a long trailer ride in wet conditions... Not sure if anyone else has a similar story.

Removed my gateway box for winter following all the advise on this site. My 2003 Ski Nautique is stored under cover but could freeze so thought it best.
Any advice when re commissioning at the start of the season? Can the seals be replaced where the pitot tubes connect?

Top center of the transom, in the engine compartment.

Some people think there are analog guages in these boats, but there all digital.. The speedometer and tach, for example, are digital and just look analog.
