It will be a ground up new boat, not a re used hull. New build techniques and materials. Lots of tech. I myself don't think electric is the way to go just logistically but I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't become an option soon. I still think Diesel is the way to go just for torque and fuel economy.
90% of the buyers don't go faster than 10.8 anymore

I think everyone is limiting their thoughts to their own perspectives. If it is an electric or diesel boat, and if it does cost 300K, maybe they aren't even considering the US market. Think of all the markets where an electric boat would be practical. Or if it costs 300K, electric or not, think of all the markets that can support that price tag. There are plenty of people in the world that are willing and able to spend that kind of money. We're limiting our thoughts to what's in our backyard, Nautique has to look at what's in everyone's backyard to be the world leader in wakeboats.

Electric engine would last way, way, longer, probably 5-10x. Less maintenance, more torque, and battery weight is a good thing. 8 hours of battery would not be hard for 280k.

Can you justify it? Can any of us justify our 100k ++ boats?

I'm surprised by the number of people that have joined the ride at 150 to 190 plus or minus for the G23......but 250 to 290....I bet the buyers start to slim down significantly.

We take the 4000.00 Supra Comp out twice as much as the 210 these days . Wife slalom ski's and Air Chair nobody wakeboards anymore and surfing is just plain boring after doing it for the last 10 years. I am so glad I am not loosing 10 k a year on a new boat.

@ 300K (rumored), it should come with a Captain that drives and then waxes after each use.

I can't believe the new "Ski" starts at $114,705. For most people short of pros, the wake put out by a 90's Comp, ProStar, or Nautique is more than fine for slalom skiing. And those can be had for what, $8k to $15k? I suspect those prices will hold strong and even start to go back up for clean examples of good ski boats, with the new ones being priced like this. The same could be said for early SuperSports and SAN 210's. How many people outside of pro skiers are going to pony up for a $115k Ski? I wonder what that comes up to after options?

Side note: electric boats would be great on my lake, most people could easily run power to their docks, and very few go out for more than a couple hours at a time - at least as far as engine hours are concerned. People farther out on the lake would love it, because there's no gas out there anyway - most haul gas cans rather than drive 30 minutes each way to fill up. We wakeboard in the evenings, but only for 2-3 hours. I'd love an electric Nautique.

Wouldn't this equate to the auto industry starting with a semi-truck as their first electric concept rather than a prius or smart car?

It wouldn't be better to start small with a ski boat (that by nature would require a shorter run time) to prove the concept and expand from there?

I received more info that the new boat is going to be an extremely low production run. I asked "so like 250 units?" the reply was "25 boats will be made"

I think Tesla proved success through performance, not through economy. Tesla out sells the leaf. The Prius is hybrid, not electric. There is a difference.

Does any Nautique historian know how many Nautique Paragons were produced. I don't know and was curious.

My wife said the best wake she ever skied was a 2003 196. My 92 Supra comp is only slightly 2nd to that . The 200 has a very good wake but the cost is way out of range. We recently skied behind a 2019 Ski Nautique 130k she still likes the 196 better.
