I don’t work for nautique or have any other info. But that’s what was hinted towards me. There’s def a new model dropping. And it’s gonna have a tower. One of the boat cover company’s had made some comments about it. Oct dealers meeting is at the lake where they lock everyone down.

If electric consider me skeptical. Whats hour life of it while cruising, tubing, surfing etc. Sounds great until you lose power 2 miles away from dock. Nothing sucks harder.
I mean our dock is just around the corner we don't need to worry yet....ah shoot we ran out of juice and need to paddle our 6k pound boat a mile. Good luck with that.
Same can be said for gas I guess but I'd like to think 1 tank of gas >>>> 1 Charge from the battery.

For folks with homes on the lake, and therefore docks/boathouses with power, it's a pretty good application for electric. That's assuming the "range" is up in the 3 hour neighborhood.

300 thousand buys a lot of gas. Even if the run time was 8 hours how long would it take for break even.

Don’t think it’s going to be electric. We will see a diesel option before electric.

So you get one 4 hour set per day. Unless of course you’re willingly to hit the water at 6am, off at 10am to charge and then back on at 4pm to squeeze another set. You could get two if everything works perfect. No thanks. I wanna go when I wanna go and I don’t want a limit on how long I can run. Someday the tech will be there but if that limit is for real I can’t see there being a lot of buyers.

For me maybe 4 hour run time and 6 hour charge time would be fine...However...

I think the issue for me is what is the company really accomplishing? Making a super expensive boat for rich people, who don't want to go to the pump? Proof of concept you can make an electric boat? Is this really necessary? Pushing the limits or creating a better battery? I doubt it.

It seems that the resources of Nautique would be better spent managing the price of the product so more people can learn to ski, surf, or board.

Nautique could sponsor a whole lot more events. They could create a program to support and sponsor boat owners to create rider clubs. They could create a non-profit to bring ridership to those that can't afford boats. Lot's can be done.

Not sure why we are spending so much time speculating but why not keep it going. Electric would not work for many of us. You need to have access to power and lots of it, you need to have deeper water marina cause you can’t empty batteries so draft will be impacted, and you need to have good conditions all the time so you are not waiting for batteries to charge while the wind is down. I can think of a dozen folks out of a thousand on my lake that could be potential customers. Also not sure how switching out engine for batteries on what is likely existing hull and parts is worth another $100k. Expensive publicity stunt that we are all likely to pay for.

I’m telling you. It isn’t made to work for everyone. You are basically paying for the r&d. That’s what this electric boat would be. We’ll see soon enough.
