Thanks, make sense, this way the kids cant accidentally move the tower,
Is there still a lock on the base as well? I.E. lever to move to unlock the tower before it is folded down?

Some 2019 info from Nautique: https://www.nautique.com/about/new-for-2019

2019 GS22 and GS24 are getting a 700 pound plug and play rear ballast option.

Forcing people to buy the power tower as standard equipment is a big mistake......

I would not disagree. Question do the competitive boats to Nautique have power towers as standard equip or are they optional?

Per Mastercraft: The XStar will come standard with the easy-folding, gas shock assisted ZFT4 tower as new standard equipment. The ZFT7 Power Tower is an additional tower upgrade option on the XStar.

That o know of as it is no body has it as standard equipment. The tower folds so easily as it is not sure why they wanted to go that route. They should have focused on making a better manual tower with Bimini fold instead. Or it’s just another way to make people justify a price increase from a marketing side of things that makes sense.

From the video I saw on here...having to "wait" for the tower seems to be a little slow. When I want my tower down....I want it down now.......LOL. I'm still waiting to see how it folds up/down with the bimini. Any other vids out there???

I hope there is a manual override to lower/raise the tower if the power option fails. If not via a crank at least a way to disengage the mechanism to go manual.

Could be a big problem if it fails and one needs to lower it to clear an obstacle or raise it afterwards.

Ive never once had to lower my tower and don't see myself ever needing to... This whole power tower craze is ridiculous, even those who lower there tower for storage over winter do you lower it at any other time?? I just don't get the need..... I also think the older tower looks better. just my .02

Oh snap I lowered my tower once 2 years ago on my 230 I forgot, I wanted to see how easy it was!!! it was EASY!!!

Well they did find a way to completely overlook a major bow spray issue from 2013-15 and somehow have gotten away with it still do this day on the G21...… just sayin
