From that video it looks like you still have to manually undo the lock down levers, then wait 30 seconds for that to go up or down. Could have the manual tower down in a fraction of the time. Windshield looks good though.

I love the idea of having the power tower. And now being so easy to put down and swivel bimini I think it looks so much easier than last years model. With the tower down cover everything will be protected and stay clean with no more bird poop and spider webs. I ordered my boat without tower speakers as I was always worried about them getting stolen. But now being stored under cover I am more likely to get some as they will not be out there in the open saying take me. I would think tower down cover would pool water less also.
But, yes the reliability. If there is no way to go manual in event of failure that would stink. Would suck to put tower up once in garage and then not be able to get it down to back boat out of garage. Or have tower stuck up and then not be able to put cover on while boat sits waiting for repair. Do board racks have to come off to use the tower down cover or will they swing in with the bimini?

I don't get this obsession with power fold towers. I would much rather have a convenient and easy to use manually operated tower. Work on how things fold up, put some good gas assist shocks in and engineer it so it is super easy to put the tower with bimini up and down by hand. Adding complexity, and less reliability long-term, with motors and switches and cables seems a bit unnecessary. The video almost looks a little comical to me for some reason - like the dude in the blue t-shirt was expecting it to go a little faster and gets bored watching it.

I assume the racks need to be swung out to provide room for the bimini? I still can't get over the size of those tower bases.

I could be wrong, but I suspect power fold towers are a fad.
Looks like Karl from Ski-n-sports in Tyler, Texas. haha

Nautique engineers would have to be complete idiots not to have a manual override.

The tower base is bigger but the open area between the end of the windshield and the start of the tower base is much bigger.

I agree 100%. Seems crazy that they wouldn't be able to put last years tower on. Even if it were the same price, I would go manual. That tower base is obscene. Likely will be a deal breaker for me.

As was mentioned above, it seems like there is some additional evolution with the power assist tower - bimini interface changes, etc. IMO, these would be great with a manual tower.

Seems like the inevitable "My assisted tower is stuck up/down/part-way" or "Tower cables derailed/broke" or "Tower motor/circuit fail" threads will be coming.

I'm with the others. That tower base looks like crap. I don't care what it helps the tower do...it should not have to be so big with the technology and materials that we have available. That might just make me keep my 15 a bit longer. STOP stepping backwards Nautique....oooh cool window......who designed that tower!!!!
