I tried all weekend but no joy. If your pebble firmware version is past 2.9.1 its not going to work. I'm not sure if I need to find a early pebble watch or just wait on a Linc update. I don't know how to revert back to an older firmware version for the watch. It came from the factory with a 3.0 version anyway and when I pair it to my phone it automatically updates the firmware to the latest version. I'm wondering if this will be a issue in the future as pebble updates the watch regularly but Linc is not updated each time. I guess if I keep the pebble from paring with the phone after initial setup then maybe the firmware won't update.
Matters worse, I had the blue remote paired up but then it stopped working! I can't find any good directions on how to pair it. It shows the paired icon of the remote of the top of the Linc screen but it wouldn't change sides.
On the plus side, this was the first weekend with the 2016 and I can definitely tell a difference in the wave!

In the settings menu, there is a pairing option for both the pebble watch and the blue remote. My icon always showed up, even when it was not paired. When you hit the button on the remote, the screen should have a little blue shroud around the icon for an instant.
I assume these things just have a watch battery in them and likely need replacing yearly. I am not sure I want to be the first guy to try and break it open, but I wonder if your battery is dead.

Ok so here is what my research is yielding on the pebble watch issue. Your watch firmware version cannot be higher than 2.9.1, this is per the Surf Select app that is put on to the pebble watch. To make sure your watch (or phone) doesn't automatically update your firmware you need to use the OLD pebble app on your app store. It is literally called pebble OLD VERSION.
If you have a firmware version newer than 2.9.1 you can roll it back to 2.9.1 or previous versions by going to http://pebblebits.com/firmware/
A video on how to do it is shown here:Any OG Pebble can be "downgraded" to firmware 2.xx via Pebble Bits:

I left my watch at my lake house so I have not tried this yet. Based on others experiences here this seems to make sense the firmware of watches that are working are 2.9.1 or less. Of course there could be a LINC update that hasn't been applied yet that would make this unnecessary. I just want make sure that future updates to either the pebble or the LINC work together! If they don't we can always go back to a firmware version that works. Fingers crossed.

However, I would say that it would be more feasible for Pebble to do another update to their product so that it works again with the Linc system rather than the other way around...I could be wrong tho

I agree though I'm not sure pebble cares whether it works with our boats or not. There have been several updates since 2.9.1 and supposedly none of them are compatible with the Surf Select app. I'm pretty sure Nautique has to either update the Surf Select app or the LINC system. not sure if either will happen.

FWIW, I confirmed with my dealer (who confirmed with Nautique) the Linc was updated in January to add the pebble and there is no further update to the Linc at this time. The suggestion is that any updates will need to come through the Surf Select app thru Pebble.com. That becomes an "if/when" question. Good luck to everyone with the 2016 G's!

Just thought I would add the official recommendation from Nautique at the present time.
They have supplied the following three documents regarding the issue with the Pebble updates breaking Nautique Surf Select. As mentioned above, they are recommending that anyone who wants to use Nautique Surf Select with the Pebble Watch either keep your watch at 2.9.1 or below, or downgrade your watch OS to that version in order to use the app.
Here are their instructions. I can confirm that this was a very quick, easy process on my Pebble watch, and it works great now. I am also including the Pairing Guide and the Interface Guide in case anyone wants those. These have also been added to the Manuals section of this site.
2016 Nautique Pebble Downgrade Guide
2016 Nautique Pebble and Surf Remote Pairing Guide
2016 Nautique Surf Select Interface Guide

Thanks Jeff! I can confirm that this process does indeed put the correct version of Firmware on your pebble watch. One thing for me, I couldn't get Surf Select app put back on the watch because I had already set up a pebble account and it thought it was already on my watch. I set up a new pebble account and then was able to download the app again. Now crossing my fingers that I get it paired this weekend!
I will say also read through the directions completely BEFORE you begin because there are some things you have to do pretty quickly and it may be on the next page of the instructions.

Hi Jeff. Can you confirm if you can do this on any version of the watch it just the earlier versions? I bought a pebble time just for doing this and now it seems it is too new a model? Will this work on any version as long as the firmware is correct? I need to know in order to decide if I need to take this back and trade for an old version.
Thanks.

Not really Nautique does have PDFs that describe each step and how to pair. Pretty straight forward.
