Why not use a pipe cleaner from time to time to clean behind the lights?Originally posted by Laptomdarn... I really like the Bullitlines lights and Ken has been great this far with customer service (a lot of emails to/from me ;-) .... But, the lights are open in the back, the 3 screws are tighten with somekind of bridge. I think this is great when you get your boat out of the water every day, but we put the boat in a harbour... The algue would have a good time to grown behind the lights and would be impossible to clean behind the lights....
Still not sure what to do... I found the Attwood lights (OEM CC) also for a good price, but they only ship to the states..

I've got some pics of the back of the Bullet LED's. Ken @ Bullet told me they designed a space behind the light to help cool the LED's, therefore the "stand offs" where the screws go through. These lights are well built, and feel very substantial when picking them up. Let me know if you want to see more pics...
Helenewbold-what hull is your boat? Are they mounted to the hull? Could you post some pics with daylight so we can see the mounted location?

It's a Ramlin trailer for a 220...just borrowed it from the dealer to do a little cleaning and to have the lights installed. I don't own a trailer.

Helenewbold-thanks for the other pics, I'm trying to decide where to mount mine, yours are higher than I've seen other transom lights mounted, that's why I asked which hull. Do you remember what the distance is from the bottom of the hull to the approx. center line of your lights? I have a FAE installed (dual exhaust) so on my hull I will have to be above the exhaust outlets, but I don't have the freeboard that you guys with the newer Vdrives...
Just out of curiosity, where in Orlando are you? We have some friends on Bear lake...2008 230 TE-ZR6

kevfran99 - I got an email back from West Marine today and they quoted me $349.46 each! I really like the single row of lights better than the oval look but not for that kind of money. I'm thinking of going with three, two blues and a single white wired to a separate switch so they will operate separately.Originally posted by kevfran99You can order them from west marine....get the item number from attwoods website....it's a special order item. they were like $215 each plus tax plus shipping = bulletlines all the way!
On a separate note, Attwood also has some nice looking LED docking lights for $467.00 for the pair I'm think of adding to my 196. These are a new light and just wondering if anyone out there has tried them or seen them yet? They are a surface mount which really appeals to me and brighter with more spread of the light pattern than a standard halogen docking light.2004 196 LE Black/Grey

Miljack- Dealer installed my lights and when I first saw them I was concerned that they maybe were mounted to high. I didn't specify exactly where I wanted them mounted. After using them a few times I can make these comments:
1. The higher they are mounted the better they light-up the wake/wave when running.
2. Where mine are mounted there is some obstruction of the full 180 degree effect due to the swim platform brackets (this is best seen in the first pic I posted on this thread)...only really noticed while stationary.
3. Given the option I would still put them exactly where they are because I'd rather have better effects while running...swimming at nite without boat running=gator bait in my area.
Will try to get that measurement for you, but hard to do with boat in lift...wouldn't worry about mounting them a little higher, so long as they are submerged while still.
We are on the Conway Chain just NW of the airport.
Happy Thanksgiving to all!

AirTool-
Boat was purchased new so I am assuming that they came from the factory. In 08 they moved the pylon from just in front of the motor box back to the transom (pop-up) which I don't think would support the weight of the boat. Would be curious to know if other 08 210s are the same?

Probably factory then...are there cutouts in the platform to drop the lifting lines through?Originally posted by helenewboldAirTool-

No cut outs, you have to remove the platform to string it up, if you go with the 'optional' ski pylon it takes the place of the lifting ringProbably factory then...are there cutouts in the platform to drop the lifting lines through?
