    My new CB 200 : )

Received the 200 a few weeks ago; have clocked 7 hours on the engine and can't wait to break her loose for a serious set at the 25hr mark

Very happy with the boat; great finish, very utilitarian, spacious and 10/10 on the fun factor. Looking forward to years of use on a boat with a timeless and proven design..

    Nids,

The boat is great looking. Happy you went with the CB and classic look. I see from your license plate you are from FL. Will the boat be used in fresh water? I only ask because you have this great looking boat on a galvinized trailer. Although it is a Ramlin trailer, so you picked the right brand.

    Still great color choice.

Thanks all for checking out my ride.

For those who asked, I live in West Africa (not Florida); out here, we ski in lagoons that run parallel to the Atlantic ocean. The water has a very low salt content; thus the galvanized trailer.

What WA country do you live in? Are you going to bow-mount a turret machine gun?

Do not baby the engine all the time. It needs a full throttle run, up to max rpm, and close the throttle back to idle, and let the boat slow down to no wake speed.
Then back to a medium slow speed, always varying the rpm. Do this several times per hour.
If you are using the boat in a slalom course, you can actually start using it for that pretty soon, because that is only about a 17 to 20 second run, if you drop the skier at the end of each pass.

The engine needs the full throttle to seat the rings. The closed throttle immediately after draws a little extra oil up on to the cylinder walls, and flushes microscopic wear particles back down in to the oil.

Do not run the engine at sustained high rpm, and load, that builds up heat.

                        Daniel,

Thank you for taking the time to share the info regarding engine break in. I've been trying to stick to the recommended break in procedure as much as possible as detailed in the engine and boat manuals.

Focused more on the WOT-to-Idle process during the first 5 hours..

The break in procedure in the manual is archaic. I build racing engines for drag racing and road racing. I can guarantee that by the time you pull your first slalom skier through the slalom course 3 times and set him down 3 times, that engine is broken in and those rings have taken their set.
