This is my 1988 Ski Nautique 2001, which I bought last March from a guy in Charlotte. This boat only had 207 original hours on it when I bought it. It originally came from a older guy in PA that had bought it for his family back in 1988. He died 10 or so years ago and so his widow kept it in the garage until she decided to sell it. That's when her journey to me begin. The guy in Charlotte lived on Mount Island Lake. He had it a year and it only had 145 hours on it when he bought it. He had to sell it because he was selling his lake house and was going to move to Ashville. He put it up for sell on Greigslist.
When I was searching for a boat for my family, I spent four months looking with no luck. I then came across this boat and it grabbed my attention. I called him up and told him I would give him $7,000.00 cash. He said, "When can you get here". That was music to my ears. I drove down to Mount Island Lake that following Wednesday and pulled her home. I did have to clean her up a little and put a good shine on her gelcoat. She now looks good as new and is a blessing to have in my family.
I Wakeboard behind her and when I weight her down, sinking the teak platform 4.5 inches below the water line, she turns that Acme 542 prop hard, which snatches me right up. There is nothing like driving back to the dock late in the evening when the sun is just below the horizon and hearing the sweet sound of the duel exhaust bouncing of the water.
That's my story about my Nautique.

      Welcome and congrats.

I'm not a big fan of the 2001, but your statement about "dual exhaust" has definitely given me a case of "exhaust envy".

Congrats, welcome, and enjoy her in great health. As for exhaust envy, I've had that since I traded in my 2000 196 for a 02 196. Things have been TOO quiet ever since.
