If I remember correctly, I think it was 35-38mph. I usually cruise around 30 so it doesn't really bother me.Originally posted by tvlazWhat top speed does the 856 limit you to when running empty? I'm not a speed demon by any means...but wondering about getting to my riding spot, ect.2016 SAN 210

This thread has been interesting to watch - as I plan out my semi-semi automatic ballast system. I am going with large, custom hard tanks because I absolutely loathe dealing with 'sacs', of any kind. Even the nice ones tend to rocket me into a foul mood, particularly when I am draining. And I fill with an AC inverter and fresh water pump connected to a hose that is the perfect length with the perfect adapter on - with the pump itself connected to a perfect line that gets looped over the rear cleat when I fill - I mean I have it DOWN and I still hate futzing with sacks. I am like a one man, soaking wet, angry, pit crew when I fill and drain. And I hate it.
I plan to get large custom hard tanks that just barely squeeze in there. I have all the measurements sitting next to me. I'll have to live with the belly sack, but the rear ones I can replace with hard tanks and slow down the rate at which my hair falls out. I mean I hate filling sacks - but draining them makes me want to flip out sometimes.
I am surprised that more people don't go for hard custom tanks too... plumbed to the outside for draining etc.

I've had this bookmarked for awhile, might help some people if they're looking for custom tanks: http://www.tank-depot.com/browse.aspx?id=8Neuston Boards

Sinkoumn exactly the same bookmark I keep. I am still looking for the perfect one, from whats in their catalog. There are some tricky measurements and considerations for getting a big tank in there, but - for me it is the only way to go. Because I hate sacs. As mentioned. Good link though.

The jabsco and even cheaper non ignition protected pumps empty bags with no problems at all. My bags empty completely and even shrivle up a bit because the pumps will even pump out all of the air. I can see an issue if you're using the aerator style pumps, but with the self priming reversibles there is absolutely no issue with emptying.Ummm, I\'ll take the REAL 210 please. Thanks.

tvlaz -- as has been posted, the weight up front depends on how much weight you have in the rear. I ran about 350lbs of water weight in sacks under the bow seats for a while but gave up on those in lieu of static weight so I could still use the space. I found that I could pack over 200lbs of lead directly in the nose 'triangle' and that brought my nose down WAY further than the larger amount of water I had previously. I assume that is a factor of leverage as the weight is further forward. Obviously the drawback is you have to trailer the weight, but I only have a 15 minute commute so it's not a big deal for me.Originally posted by tvlaz...is the single best solution for improving a SANTE's wake adding a bow sac?
If so, is there a weight value that I should begin consideration? IE...will only adding a couple 50-75 lb blocks (water bags) be a waste of time and effort?
Good luck with your setup!!'08 Super Air Nautique 210

jhiestand,
Do you find it annoying when you are loading the boat on the trailer with the ballast empty and the lead still in place that the nose is running low in the water? Or do you move the bow weight back a bit?

I don't move the weight when loading, but I do have the 3 or so people still in the boat move and sit on the back of the rear seat to help with weight bias when loading.
The biggest beef I have with static weight in the nose is it has a slight tendency to push my 1/2 ton truck around a bit.'08 Super Air Nautique 210
