1993 SN Closed Bow Windshield Glass Replacement

Front glass shattered in my windshield. I have seen in another post that I can by flat tempered glass and push it into place... yikes!

Has anyone recently tried this that has any tips/tricks?

Or better yet, anyone know where I can get a windshield for a 1993 SN Closed Bow so I don't have to attempt this?

    Thanks!

I understand that even if you could find a factory 93 windshield they still are flat and must be bent and fitted into the frame. I'd check with a local glass shop. They can cut a sheet to fit then send it off to be tempered. Even tempered glass can flex quite a bit before it shatters. Iv never done this repair but I imagine it should work just fine if you have a good local glass shop that can cut a new piece to fit and has the means to then have it tempered if you want that safety aspect.

I've put new glass in a windshield like that, although not your exact boat. It's tricky, and helps to have several sets of hands. You disassemble the frame somewhat, then put the rubber edging on the glass and push that into the frame... carefully. It will bend a good amount without breaking. I wouldn't be surprised if a glass shop would do the job for you, if you're worried about breaking the glass on install. If they break it putting it in, it's their problem.

I had the exact same boat and broke the windshield TWICE. Once was a low dock in a strong wind, second was a drunk friend, yikes. BIG money to have a glass shop fix it. The second time I said screw it and fixed with plexiglass because I was a poor college kid at the time.

Windshield replaced. Tempered glass cost $210 cdn. Glass shop did a great job making the template. Was 15 minutes of psyching ourselves up and figuring out the best way to do it. ~5 minutes installation time. Used a ton of dish soap to make frame and gaskets super slippery, 4 people (1 one either side and 2 in the boat), and voila! Slid in fairly easily and zero problems with the bow.
