If there is water in the cooling hoses to the vdrive and you pulled vdrive drain plugs and no water came out then your drain plugs are corroded and clogged up. I had to punch through the drain port with a small screw driver to get mine to drain then later ended up sending it off for a full rebuild for other reasons.Originally posted by goldfisch View PostHey guys when I pulled both plugs on my v drive shown in pic on page 1 nothing came out. should I worry about this. Or cycle antifreeze threw I want to finish tonight. thanks

The marina that does my winterizations has been using the bucket method on my boat for 13 years. I know they're not pulling drain plugs. Why would you need to pull the drain plugs if the water jacket is already full of antifreeze?Originally posted by ejnautique View PostI would appreciate any diagrams/pictures showing the drain plug location for a 2002 SAN GT40. I'm planning on winterizing this weekend, last year I used the suck up antifreeze from a bucket method. Based on reading some posts, it sounds like I should also have emptied all the drain plugs before doing this.

You want to drain the water before pulling AF into the system so you don't dilute the AF and compromise the freeze protection.
So pull the plugs to drain, put them back and then pull AF out of the bucket until you see it coming out the exhaust.
