    211 surf wake

Anybody have pics? I keep hearing how good it is, but haven't tried it in mine. Curiosity is killing me. Is it worth trying? Give weight details also.

I don't have a 211 exactly, this is behind a 99 Super Air, which is close enough for demonstrative purposes. I have a Python so plus 200lbs there, 400 in the locker, 70lb in the bow. 275 lbs of lead under the respective seat, 560lbs on the starboard seat.

Since this was taken I have also got a new 370lb bag for the seat and moved the 560 lbs to the back compartment. Making the wake even more gargantuan. Do note that this is my smaller side, as well, my port side is even bigger.

I already posted this in "showing off", so sorry for the redundant photo. My 14 year old son cutting it up.

Worth it, **** yeah !! Only event I can do after breaking my back boarding in June. Anyone can surf, kids, adults, older folks.

Our 2 kids have a blast surfing behind our 05 211 Team.

We fill the starboard and belly tanks full. Move most people to the starboard side, go 15-17 kph, adjust the hydrogate until it's a fairly clean rollover of the wave.

Both kids can now go for about as long as they want without the rope.

9 mph, fill the starboard and belly, put as many people in the rear behind drivers seat as you can (the more the bigger the wake), and keep a slight right-side turn going to sharpen the edge. Keep the gate set at "slolom" mode. Sometimes it's easiest to get up by making a big right side turn, creating a big hole for the rider and then straightening back up. Keep the rope until you can run with slack a good, long way - it's definitely not needed once you get used to it, but it is nice to have if you start slipping back in the wave. Don't get too close to shore people get POed, but run with the rider towards the bank - you can run during the worst days on the lake with full protection of the wave.

            Enjoy

AN211, why do you keep the gate in slalom mode? Wouldn't wakeboard mode make more sense? Then again, at that speed, I probably wouldnt be able to tell a difference...

Here is one with just the port and belly tank full with two adults and a child on the port side and my wife driving. I was almost able to surf without the rope with my nephew. We were able to ride a bit with just him holding the rope. The balance is a bit tougher when you have a 6 year old bouncing around on the board. It was a bit easier with the 4 year old unfortunately we didn't have the wakeplate on 2 so the wake was a bit more washed.

                    Abundiga,

The wakegate helps to clean up the lip, I fine that #2 +/- 0.5 is best. A slight turn towards the rider also helps.

a small fat sac in the walk through does wonders for the port side wake

At whatever speed you chose - we like 8.5/9.0 - the gate helps trim the top edge as well a slight turn towards the rider. This picture shows the size of the wake farely well. As a reference, my son is 5'10". Look closely the wake really is 3.5-4 Ft. It was taken while carrying 3 kids ranging from 100-160 and myself at 200. Starboard and belly full as mentioned before. It seems best for us to ride on driver's side due to my fat butt being in the driver's seat and the rotation of the screw. Once you get it, it is almost too easy - you can go miles with no effort. Keep the rope and mix it up by crossing the wake and driven hard at the wake.

Anyone care to give a brief explanation on how to surf? I've never seen it done.

                            sorry for the stupid question.
