Does the extra weight hurt the boat in any way?

i dont think so.. 1300 - 1600 lbs of total ballast is really, really light compared to others... most surfing /wakeboarding will run between 2000 - 3000 lb of ballast. here is a little rundown of friends boats
x2-2000 lbs
xstar - 3000 lbs
210- 2200 lbs
vlx - 2600 lbs
alot wll depend on how often you change your fluids and where your boat is proped.. i am very anxiuos to try the new acme 1234

myke - funny how you mention the Enzo in the other post. I had a chance to ride behind the Enzo V230 that was supposed to be used at Boardstock. Full ballast plus a Swtchblade (wedge-like device). I thought the surfwake on it was good but that 211 wake blows it away.

did they sac it out ? fly high makes a hugh custom sac for the enzo (about 8' long ) and the wake is suppose to be killer.....
i think the 211 might be able to go toe to toe on the starboard side... we got a super long and hugh super clean wake the next day after these shots with a consistent barrel (about 1/3 of the back wake)... it was beautiful....

I had 600 pounds of lead for surfing, and ended up selling it. The lead was just a PITA to deal with as I did not keep it in the boat while towing, and moving it from the truck to the boat started to get really old. I think I will just stick to the extra sacs.

Enzo had stock ballast and the Switchblade only. It was good, not impressive. Might have been because it was new to the owner and he didn't have it figured out. Wake had some size but you couldn't get too far back or you were really pumping to try and catch up, or grabbing for the rope to pull yourself back in.

I think that I need to mention that the 211 makes a very surfable wake with stock ballast and a light crew, something most boats cannot do. Since I still slalom ski behind mine I don't use extra weight and we love to surf when the water gets blown out.

Yesterday we figured out a new set-up that is working pretty well. We ran all the stock tanks full then just moved the boat driver & passengers to the side the surfer was on. With the surfer on the port side I find the wake cleanest with the wakeplate set in slalom mode, with the surfer on the starboard it's cleaner in wakeboard mode. Considering the rotation it kind of makes sense. This allowed us to surf both heelside and toeside in one run by just crossing the wake. Now I need to find a twin-tip wakesurfer so I can switch front to back on the same run... I took some pix but none of them showed the wake very well so I won't bother posting them.

Just take the stock plate off and cut a pc. of gasket material to size and glue it to the inside then reattach. Works wonderful, the grey gasket material is undetectible unless you get right up on it.Life is Short, Live it!
