Check out the thread from a couple months ago on insurance and the nonsense from SkiSafe. They were well over 1% of value in premiums. My 230 is about .9% through Geico.

So if you financed a Paragon for 7 years, you also bought a well equipped 210 with it, but you have nothing to show for it? Perfect. Don’t forget the insurance will be about $2800/yr plus storage and finding premium fuel.

...and even in Texas you’re paying $2000/mo when you can only use it, at max, 7 months/year.

$2800 for insurance?!? I’d expect you could find MUCH better deals than that. My XStar (obviously not as expensive, but just a rough baseline), is $648.00/year. Also just quoted Insurance on a new regal 33 express ($280k agreed value policy). It was quoted at $1045/year.

Id assume insurance on a Paragon is going to be $1000-$1200/year for most folks.

Revising my estimate. That loan would have about 172k in interest over its life. (Didn’t do an amort schedule, but I guess if you own for 7 years you’d pay like 90k in interest? A 240k loan at 6% for 20 years has that 1,719 payment they show on the sign.)

I was just curious. We have a vacation rental up in Santa Rosa. But even there you can’t buy much or anything under 500k. I thought San Diego was just as bad if not worse. It’s my backup plan if I can ever convince my family to leave the fridged Midwest. I’ll be pulling my boat back south as soon as it arrives in late feb just to try it out.

We got lucky and didnt by into the sub prime loan market so our house was bought at half of its current market value at the time of the crash.

Watching all my neighbors buying/financing boats, toys, and pools using the equity in their houses makes me think that a correction is on the horizon again its just a matter of time with everyone over extending again.

If you want to get into the California market I would give it 3-5 years and it should be low again not sub prime stated income low but affordable.

Note the stitching on the seats of the cart. Do you feel sorry for our mutual friend/my neighbor? He gets a regular diet of Bama... RDT.
