Of course it did. Am I wrong to juxtapose boat and auto manufacture? Clearly.
To illustrate how frustrating and wasteful this issue is, my dealer went to change an impeller on a P boat recently (for a Planet Nautique forum member here) and found that the pump on the ZZ8 didn't take the same impeller as the other 6.2L engines. This, in and of itself - isn't terrible; the issue is that he had nothing to tell him this in advance. He found out by pulling it from the pump. This all happened in a neighboring state... Bad juju.
So, back to task - great engine so far. Owners getting hours on them will tell the reliability tale. I hope and suspect it will be a great powerplant for PCM and Nautique. They seem to do a good job engineering, but not supplying guidance manuals to the end user...

I don’t have much issue when the ballast is empty. I don’t cruise much over 25 since it just sucks gas. I also don’t go very far so it’s not an issue.
