I’ll have to agree with 72 on this as well. If the G23 is your dream boat and it’s in the budget.... get it and Be done. Especially with only a 10k difference in price seems like a no brainer. Dealer relationship/location is a key factor

Spray is much improved on the 2016+ G23.

You don't see many unhappy G23 owners, period.

i'd have a real hard time getting the G without the dealer agreeing to upgrade to the new shaft design. sure that is the boat you dream about, but you'd also have nightmares about the potential of shaft breaking every trip out.

Hasn't the keyway slot on the shaft been modified/changed on the 2019 Gs to help reduce shaft breakage?

I am told they gave not had any shaft breaks since they switched suppliers.

The switch was supposed to be mid 18 models.

That is what I heard as well directly from Nautique which is why I asked in a previous post for people with 18s that had a shaft break to also include month of production.

I have not posted my personal results yet for fear of being the next victim, however, my January 2018 production G23 with 130 hours has not had a shaft break nor any mechanical issues whatsoever.

Thanks for all the advice. I ended up ordering the G23. The cost ended up to be about 6K more for the G compared with the Supra. The nautique dealer gave me a way better deal than the Supra dealer. Can’t wait till spring

Dustin, who were you dealing with? Croft and Marine Products?

I thought it a bit unusual that when I walked into MP, the prices they were quoting for Supra were so close to what you can get a Nautique for. I was not really in the market, but just checking things out, so figured they were just highballing me, but maybe not. Did you quote both with the supercharged motors?

Ya Croft and marine products. Both were with the supercharged motors. The msrp of the nautique was about 26K more than the Supra but Croft was way more aggressive at discounting their boat than marine products. I went to Croft after I’d been talking to marine products for a while and was amazed that the prices were so close. Marine products told me that last year was an amazing year for boat sales so I don’t think they were too motivated to drop their prices

That is a though one . I would probably go G23 over a Sl for that price just because of the transmission reduction in the G and only a 1.5 transmission on the SL .Just remember there is probably a major redesign coming for the g in 2020, so will you be bummed if your g is no longer current. If you are designing a supra, the SE has the transmission reduction and comes stock with the new 450 so you would be fine with out the supercharged (so you would save a ton of cash). The SE with a base motor was almost the Same as a SL with a 450.

so basically nautique is winning here because they make people think they are getting a deal by having a higher MSRP?
