I’m trying to decide on which 2019 boat I’m going to buy and am looking for some input. After looking at a lot of different boats I’ve narrowed it down to the G23 and the Supra SL. I’m just trying to get some input about what others would do. Price wise the G23 will cost me about 10K more than the supra. The resale on the G23 is way better than the supra and one of my concerns with the supra is the huge loss of value over the first few years compared to the G which seems to hold its value pretty well. The nautique dealer is giving me a better deal than the local supra dealer. The G23 has been my dream boat for the past 4 years. I plan on demoing both boats this week if the weather allows.
Supra Pros: dual ballast pumps per ballast bag, chill tech vinyl, transom surf locker, better rough water ride(so I hear), likely easier for my wife to drive, 3500 lbs subfloor ballasts, 7 year warranty (boat show promotion), I’ve been on a few supras and have liked their wakeboard wakes
Supra cons: concern about resale, and the stuff listed in the nautique pros
Nautique Pros: better looking boat, better quality interior, better resale, boats dry weight is 300 pounds more than the supra. Less bow rise during surfing, according to online posts the surf wave has more push and the wakeboard wake is better, Really like the local nautique dealer, wife wants a platform ladder(not an option on supra)
Nautique cons: more expensive, one ballast pump per bag, complaints about bow spray, props falling off, faulty oxygen sensors, bad belt tensioners, hull hasn’t been updated since 2016, posts mention that the boat drives like a tank
Cons of both: power towers- I have a tall garage door built specifically to accommodate a boat tower. I’ll never need to lower the tower. I wish it was an option like it is on the malibus
I know this is a nautique site but I wanted to get opinions if the g23 is worth the extra 10K?
