Holy crap!!! Am I seeing this right??? Do we have to drive around with the window sticking up like that if we want it open. What a Terrible design if so. Come on Nautique. Seriously?????

That folded tower height looks to be a good 6 to 8 inches heigher than the windshield. I wonder if it would even fit under a 9 foot tall door. Guess I will be building a new garage. Going to have to get a metal car port to stick in under for the first winter for sure.

i heard that it is on a gas assist that helps close it and hold it shut.

The main color I chose for interior was mojave but not sure I would want mojave on the tower. Sure is hard ordering a boat before there is a configurator on line to see what I ordered lol.
Tower accent matches featured texture color for interior. Mine is onyx black.

Wait till you sit in one, the tower base is so huge. It's ridiculous.

My .02.... Disclaimer - I have never once put my tower down in the 2 seasons I have owned it.

I don't get this obsession with power fold towers. I would much rather have a convenient and easy to use manually operated tower. Work on how things fold up, put some good gas assist shocks in and engineer it so it is super easy to put the tower with bimini up and down by hand. Adding complexity, and less reliability long-term, with motors and switches and cables seems a bit unnecessary. The video almost looks a little comical to me for some reason - like the dude in the blue t-shirt was expecting it to go a little faster and gets bored watching it.

I assume the racks need to be swung out to provide room for the bimini? I still can't get over the size of those tower bases.

I could be wrong, but I suspect power fold towers are a fad.

                              You might be right...

I think people with non-power will tend to say it’s better and the reliability argument is certainly valid.

I’m getting a ‘19 so I’m going to be biased in favor of it, naturally. I could have gotten an 18 or 19 and the power tower was part of the reason I switched my order to a 19...with resale of a 19 that I get in 18 during season (arrives next week) being part of it too.

I really like the idea of being able to trailer the boat without the tower up and having it get bushwhacked (or worse) while I’m trucking it around. I’m not an experienced tower of tall things so I just liked the idea of having to worry less about clearance...that could be a stupid concern but it is just how I personally felt. I also liked the idea that when parked outside at my slip, the tower isn’t getting beat by the sun. (Tower down cover)

To me, the biggest trades were higher cost and potential that it doesn’t come up if something breaks. I’m hoping there is a manual override possible in the event of power loss but that is probably wishful thinking.

Several other brands have had power folding towers for several years now- is anyone familiar with their failure rates and if they have manual overrides for situations where the tower isn’t operating? I would hope that Nautique did their homework and took some notes from the ones that did this before them so as to avoid pitfalls.

Seriously fugly. Who wants to pay more for something that adds no value for many users.
