Based on that, I would agree, evolutionary. It could be a significant evolutionary jump, but it will be evolutionary (unless they go with a diesel engine).

Simply put, there is no one other than God that has the power to make me a better wakeboarder (not because I am that great, but because I am almost 40 and still suck). And unless they have been playing a nice trick on us, the price point of this boat(s) are not going to suddenly make Nautiques (new ones anyway) accessible to a new market and thereby allow participation in the sport to greatly expand. That is okay in my book, as it is hard enough to find good water as it is.

All that said, would you consider it revolutionary if one were to design a wakeboat that planed instantly, and kept an effectively constant large an clean wake at all speeds... without ballast? I have some ideas about how to accomplish that. It would suck as a ski boat of course.

good question. i suppose it is a matter of perspective. great riders are great riders, not because of the boat they ride behind, but because of physical talent. to that end, and from a wake perspective, REvolutionary would mean a wake that allows us mere mortals to elevate our game while without increasing the risk of injury (read a monster, clean wake while slowing it down from 26.5 mph). i guess an analogous comparison is that 4 stroke dirt bikes revolutionized that sport...they are easier to ride and are way more predictable than their two stroke predecessors...that sport has grown by leaps and bounds due to the advent of 4stroke mx bikes. dont care how they get there (hull design, more ballast, displacement hardware), but a bigger wake at 26.5 mph doesnt REvolutionize the sport, and doesnt help more people gain access to the sport.

from an interior/cabin perspective, i believe that CC has already REvolutionized that...they didnt just evolved the seat back angles or seat foam padding, they took an honest look at the intended use of their boats, and created convertible interiors on the 210, 220 and 230 that allow them to be chameleons. some people dont like the way they look, but i could care less, they are way more functional than anything out there.

from a drivetrain perspective, all of the powerplants they use are sourced from the auto industry. outside of giving us something that has never been seen before, the use of forced induction or big blocks is just evolutionary....

vanity is a muther, but certainly would not be #1 factor when considering a boat. i dont want to "look" like a wakeboarder. i dont want to "look" like i participate in a certain lifestyle. i don't care who looks at me going down the lake...that i can afford to purchase anything in particular is not a testament to my character or my lifestyle. i suspect this boat will be more evolutionary than REvolutionary. if it is a step forward in the production of a wake and functionality, then it doesnt matter what it looks like (within reason). this is watersports, not a beauty pageant.
all that said, it better be REvolutionary, or we are just suckers for marketing....
