    Tower light on 05's

I was at the local dealer yesterday and I noticed that CC has added a tower/ancor Light to all there towers for 05. I give them a credit for finely doing it but I have to give them a thumbs down on how it looks and how it was done,

#1 It looks like the used a lamp cord for the wire to the light.
#2 The light itself looks so cheep.
#3 Its chrome. Yes chrome it looks great with all the other chrome on the boat! LOL

Come on even the SUPRA has a better looking tower light and they even came out with it 3 years ago you thing with all the time they took to come out with it they could have researched and sourced a better looking light.

I took a look around the New 210 and cant believe the wiering job Nautique does on all there boat's Its like they do the worst job on running wires. Get on it nautique, Dont make me come down there and show you how to run wire's

I would have liked to have seen an auto-retractible anchor light incorporated into the tower. One that would operate like the retractible stern light offered on the '03 Nautiques, where it automatically raises when it is powered on. I have that option on mine, and I love it! It would have been very nice to see something like that incorporated into the tower.

Jeff, I think the only place where it could be retractible would be in the pylon. That would be cool. A mix between the generic design, and MCs current design. (which i personally think is the best so far, they make theirs look very nice.)

Grant, I saw my first 05 last Thursday and I said the exact same thing to the salesman. Looks like an afterthought and cheap. I told him straight out the Mastercraft dome is better than that!

I agree with the anchor light.. it looks pretty aftermarket/not installed well configuration. I still think... and may get beat up here.. that the best anchor light configuration on a tower is on the MC towers.

Although I'm glad they finally did it... I would have thought CC could have come up with a better design... one that looked like it was a part of the tower.. not an add on.

Now only if the Dumb *** from Hot Buddy products could take some advice and incorprate this Ancor light into his Power Flag He might have more the 2 people that would think about buying a $800 flag.

I told him about this and another Idea to use perfict pass as away of rasing and lowering the flag. He dindt seem to intrested. All he could talk about was some $80 add on that the rider would wear and when it got wet the flag would raise, Sounds like a gret Idea "NOT"

              LOL

I sould make one just to show him what a dumb *** he is.

Ok Ill put my money where my mouth is, I just orded a Pop Up transome light, $174. it's Like whats on the back of Jeff's boat. Ill see what I can do about making this in to a power flag, If it dosent work Ill just have to install it like a pop up transome light. Damm.

Jeff you have one, What do you think. Does it look like it will work.

The Chocolate Factory is now open for buisness! LOL

the lights gonna have to spin on the way down to wrap up the flag. That light looks like one of those hollow pole inside of another hollow pole to extend far enough up. (see joint at bottom of white streaks)

My buddy was going to make one, but thought otherwise cause you would need some microcontrolloers and high torque mini motors. Just a pain in the arse to program.

Good luck if you try it.

So what IS the best aftermarket anchor light? I would think it to be a good application for LED's! BTW, if you have one, does it suffice for the transom light (legally)?

Luke , Pete has the power flag on his tower and yes it spins and wraps the flag around the pole and then it lowers. Another friend of myn made a Pop up flag that uses spring to pop it up. It dosnt spin and it works just fine, I think if the tube is long enough and the pole is wide enough and If you use a light weight fabric I dont see a problem with the light dragging the flag into the hole with out spinning. But who know's We will see when I get it together, I know I have made more complicated things work so I dont see a problem.

Hey, many of you including myself have the absolute best anchor light already built into the tower already. If you have a light bar, take mine for example, the fusion one. Four very bright moveable lights. Flip two forward, and flip two back ward... there ya go, best anchor light on the lake.

                          G-

Does the flag mount part way down the pole? Wouldn't it get stuck outside the hole on the way down if mounted at the top? I was wondering how you would make it tuck nicely inside the hole each time without it wrapping?

Sounds like a cool setup, but think I am going to fit a tower mounted light on mine. Use some leds so it would be really small wire to fit.

I gotta bunch of stuff I want to do so it is a "future" project.

Luke I could spend all day explaining how I was going to do it, Or I could just make it work and you can come over and see for yourself when its done. LOL
