Note mine are LEDs that run full brightness in or out of the water, not the Halogen styles that dim when they get hot like the CC units.
Pretty sure the CC units are LED as well. When I put the Abyss Technology (they make the ones for MasterCraft) LED lights on my 05 196 they had special cooling slots in the housing and warnings to keep them in water to keep them cool.

This is a link to Abyss lights.
              http://www.abysslite.com/underwater-lights.php
Factory install on Mastercraft and Tige.
              I put the L800's on my 05 196.
I am not sure who is supplying CC with there factory installs.

It is difficult to describe how bright these lights are. Out of water in a dark room they are blinding.

do you think it would be easy to mount it under the platform (teak) itself and have the lights plugged into the lighter or battery powered? I just don't wanna drill trough the hull.

I went for the blue L800.
I paid less than the list but it was still a fair chunk of change. Since I knew I was selling the boat I mounted mine on the aluminum strut for the platform and then ran the wires up between the platform and transom and into the vent at the rear of the boat. Doing it this way the lights faced outward and to the side. Tied the electrical into the stern light and operated them with the dash light switch.

Permanent install requires the drilling of three holes in the hull, two to anchor which are not through the hull, an one through the hull for the aluminum nipple that the wires run through. They give you a very accurate template but I know what you mean about drilling holes in the hull.

These are obvious bling items. I did it because we used my boat for a couple of acts in a night water ski show and I wanted something a little different.

That would make some big holes in your transom of your boat...

I would vote for the original of CC...

I like your idea of not drilling any holes.

                              thanks for the input!"

A group buy on these was mentioned previously.

                                Was there not enough interest?

Looks like a good winter project!
