I'm not sure on final pricing, though at the moment it is looking to be in the upper $600's - plus shipping.

What is the price going to be for those who don't get in the group buy?

Only 3 weeks left to get in on this season's group buy, don't let the chance to get this great discount pass you by!

Yes, the Tachyon Pylon OD is 2.5" for the 'tube', and the pylon itself is 2" diameter. The bottom of the 'tube' is designed such that it allows the standard 2.5" U-bolt (which is a 2" diameter on the ID) to clamp on the bottom.

Thanks One thing I noticed it that if the OD of the tube grows it needs to span the lower L bar at the are not planar from a top down point of view. Do you know the dimensions of the Tachyon Pylon's OD?

Very interesting adaptation of the factory pole! Looks like you've got the concept down. The most critical dimension is the deck to the lowest support, when you pick up your boat, measure that dimension.

You will definitely be able to extent the Tachyon pylon without opening the engine compartment as well!

I will get some dimensions when I pick up the boat from storage
Here is a thread we started a while back: (not sure how to link it)
Can a 220's ski pole be converted to a pop up?

There are pictures of my homemade version near the end of the thread.

It is mounted with u-bolts to the aluminum frame that the original pole was secured to. I have no way.....yet.....to pull it up other than open the engine compartment.

Sjames - Any chance you can snap a few photos of your pylon mount under the rear engine lid so I can see how it is mounted? I will have you take a few measurements as well so I can verify the design.

Chance are good that either the existing unit will fit - or I can make you one with some mofications. I have some dealers interested in pylons for the newer boats, so it's only a matter of time until I get all of the various models addressed...

Shoot me some photos & we'll see how it looks!

    Will a kit fit a 2006 SANTE 220?

I've had a few questions about sizing & wanted to give some insight into the critical dimensions for the retractable pylon. Refer to the "simplified" image below for more detail on exactly where to measure.

    1) Measure from top of deck to lowest cross-member for the pylon support. This dimension should be 17.75" plus or minus roughly 1/4".
    2) Measure from the lowest cross-member to the upper pylon support cross-member. This dimension should be 9.75" plus or minus roughly 1.5".
    3) Measure the width of the 'deck' that they pylon trim ring mounts to. It should be 4.25" or more.

If you have a Super-Sport or Super-Air Nautique from 1996 - 2004 & you are outside of the ranges above, please give me a call so I can be sure we accommodate your boat properly. I can be reached at 651-491-4638 or by email at rick@tachyonmotorsports.com.

I will definitely consider manufacturing units for other models upon request as well.

    Thanks!

Yes, absolutely. There will also be provisions for the quick-attach barefoot boom mount - which will be available soon as well. This will let you mount a quad-contour boom with ease & maintain a very large range of adjustment.

    *Approved*

The video below shows the operation of the pylon - take a look!

I will leave the group-buy open until the day after tax-day (Wednesday, April 18th). The pylons for this group will be finished with machining & anodizing in May. Please call or email to place your deposit. 651-491-4638 or rick@tachyonmotorsports.com.

All pylons will be black-anodized (not silver), and will have some new features beyond what is shown in the photos and video in this post. I will have tool-less barefoot-boom mounts available for the retractable pylon soon!

This pylon is designed for the 2001 Super Air Nautique, but may fit others. Please call or email and I can give you the dimensions that you will need to verify.

    Thanks!
