95 Super Sport upgrades

Got this boat last year and have gotten a wealth of knowledge from these forums. Though I'd return the favor and post some pictures of what I've done to my boat.

Ballast install: 400# V-drive sacks, 650# rear seat sack for center locker, 1000# surf sack, 3 jabsco pumps

Stainless steel thru hull replacements

Fresh Air exhaust

Caster wheel install on prop gaurd

New ACME prop

New high pressure fuel pump (started whining)

New steering cable (became stiff)

New ignition switch

Next is the perfect pass, new decals

Very nice!! Looks like I have some competition on the nicest SSN!! Where is the 1000#er at? I'm still setting up my surf wave for port side, curious as to how you are running your setup...

I put the 1000# bag on the seat on the side we are surfing. Well I actually take the seats out and put it on the seat frame so I don't split my vinyl. I put a y valve on the center sack line and have a quick connect on the surf sack and loose hose. I also move two 75# tire weight bags to the surf side.

One or two extra people on the boat and the wave is huge. We don't surf the port side much because of the prop rotation and my family is all goofy. When we surf the port side all the weight must be on that side and we have to turn pretty sharp to get the wave to clean up. Sometimes I drive from the observers seat even.

Awesome! I need to learn to ride goofy, just want to set up my port side first... Right now I have 750's in the back and 1000# in the front plumbed in. And my next mod was going to put a set of inline T's with a block off on the front ballast puppy. Have one plumed into a 350# ski locker bag I have laying around and the other inline T for a hose to fill surf sacs up with. This is my best surf wave so far. 750 on port, 1000 half full in front and two 450's on the side.

Either way, NICE set up man!

And now looks like you have an issue with the trans slipping, right? Saw you out at Boca yesterday. Your mechanic friend was thinking that it's the clutches in the tranny. I think you might want to check the adjustment on your throttle line to the transmission before you go tearing it out. Also remember that the "clutches" in there are pump driven so if you are running low on fluid, you'll get the same result.

Nonetheless, you have a sweet Super Sport. Cleanest one I have seen in a while. Maybe I'll see you out there again soon.

Great work! I just bought a 2000 Super Sport with factory tower & perfect pass but no ballast. Going to put ballast in as a winter project.

A couple of questions - did you do ALL of the ballast work yourself, or have any dealer/marina help? How much did you spend?

If I can come in under $2k I'll be happy, still saving almost $10k over buying a SAN!

I'm doing same V-drive sacs as you, locker sac & probably something underseat in the bow.

Any help or advice you can offer is greatly appreciated and I may ask more as I go along.

Are the 400# Vsacs preferred over two 750#s in the rear? What is the size or best fitting center sac? The 580# fly hi? or the 370#?

I was thinking doing the following: 2 x 400# V rear, 1 x 580 fly hi Center, maybe an open bow under the front playpen as needed.

Will that do it? or should I do the 2 x 750s? rear? I worry about the max capacity of my boat states "9 person or 1290 lbs"... the 750's would put me way over...

I use this:
Fly High Pro X Series V-Drive sacs for the rear (800 lbs) and a Fly High Pro X Series Fat Sac in the center (750 lbs)

I used the seat bag because the dimensions were very close to the size of the ski locker. I think the 750's are too big for the space. I also use a 1000# surf sack on either side for surfing or I put it in the bow for wakeboarding(Half filled). It puts out as big a wake as I can handle.

To the other guy: I installed it all myself. Cost about $1000 in supplies.
