I have a 2017 SANTE 210 with factory installed Polk head unit with a small JL audio amp. We have just one pair of factory tower speakers and 4 -6"speakers (no sub or bow speakers). Last year the right side went completely out. (If I adjust the balance to the RT I dont get any audio). Not sure if it is the head unit or the amp. Anyone have similar issues? I have searched around the forum and unable to find any clues....

Swap the left and right inputs going into the amp. If the side that works moves, then the problem is the head unit. If it doesn’t move, then it’s the amp. You may also discover in the process that the problem is a bad cable or connection.

Typically, its the amp. Not unheard of for a head unit to go bad but most of what I've personally seen is the amps failing first. In your case you're we're talking about 9 season audio gear so anything is possible. JP has your answer for testing. Let us know the results.....

Thank you bturner and jpwhit I have moved things around and the problem persists. I left the inputs off after testing when I took this photo... I may go to a local marine/auto audio store for some further help. Agree on 9 years old... Wow cant believe its been that long already. Will let you know on result!

Well I dug into the diagnosing last night. I moved the RCA inputs (Left and Right out of the head unit) on the amp input. The Left works and the Right doesnt- the working side moved. I also experiment with the AUX in at the head unit testing music with an input source (my phone) going in the headphone style AUX input under the dash. When using the Left input jack on the head unit it worked, when using the Right input on the head unit no sound. So two scenarios testing Right channel and sound like the head unit is bad. There is a conversion kit ($1575) and its specific to the NEMA aka communication cables going to the LINC unit so you can adjust music setting and source selection from the LINC/dash as well.
