Anyone have experience on 09 210? My handle on demand keeps breaking loose. Does that mean it's defective?

nr2041, I got my HD handle in the mail yesterday, I have a question, are you obtaining the 90 degree angle by hull placement or cutting the HDPE?

Can't wait to give this a try. I'm currently restoring a 98' Super Sport I just bought a few months ago. I yanked out the old factory tanks and all the old primitive fill system. I will be ordering up some jabsco reversible pumps and plumbing in 750's in the back and a 650 in the belly. I'm hoping with this set up and the "suck gate" I will be able to get a good surf wave.

the plate / gate is 90 degrees on handle, when mounted on the boat it is around 60 degrees in relation to the side of the hull due to mounting on the rear portion of the hull that angles in toward the platform, did you see the pics with measurements earlier in the thread?

Here are my before and after pics from my wakegate. For reference 03' SAN with 250lb tanks in rear both full and belly full, 400lbs of evenly distributed lead. two people in boat, 10.5 mph. And then a pic of the wakegate on the starboard side.

So, do you like this setup (the way you have the handle/sucker attached) or the other one you did with the metal handle better?

I made the second handle for a friends moomba, this one is angled back, have no plans to try this on my 210, sticking with the metal handle and 90 degree plate for mine

only reason I made the second one is because I had the extra handle and material

interesting they are listing the boat with the gate, I honestly think gome and my wave looks much better, I found that if my boat was not evenly weighted the wave was not as clean, also several people are mentioning mounting the gate at or slightly above the water line, mine is well below the waterline

I think it's the angle of the camera off the tower...NR2041 thanks for taking the time to post all your info and specs...can't wait to try mine out this week on a 1997 Super Sport...currently, I can barely get a surf able wave with bags/people slammed to one side...thanks again!

around 25 degrees, I made this one tonight for a buddy to try on his mojo 2.5, if mounted perpendicular to the hull it has roughly the same angle as mine when mounted to the angled back hull area

A few nice "suck gates" in this thread! I figured with the simplicity of the design, most wouldn't pay $500 for something they could make themselves for under $70 and get the same result. I understand R&D and the business side of a product (I'm a small business owner myself) but what I can't understand is, why do these companies charge so much for a product that cost so little to manufacture? One would figure you could make more in the long run selling the product somewhere around the $200 price point but that is just my two cents. I think I will copy the designs posted here, they look good and seem to work just as good.

Yeah.. I watched that video a few times. Towards the end you can see the rub rail in the water. Also, it is hard to see but you can see a shadow of the tower tracing along the back of the sun deck as if they were doing a slight turn. They are doing something to get the wave to clean up.

Im interested in building one for an '05 226, not sure if the hull design is the same. any feedback would be much appreciated, super excited to clean up and have a larger wake. one last thought, we will use it on the starboard side does that change anything?

it does not matter which side as long as the boat is weighted evenly

Hey Guys,
My parts are showing up today, so maybe I'll be able to tell when they show up, but is there a preferred location to drill thru the handles to install the 3" bolts?

Any pics on what you're describing for the tether? Sounds like it would be a nice addition.

Side question, has anyone been able to get the port side wake to clean up by weighting the boat. I currently get a very nice wake on the starboard side. I'm really hoping this solution will clean up the port side. I'm tired of the goofy riders having all the fun:-)

no certain place for bolts in particular, there is just a "triangle" area of the handle to drill through, I tried to go in the center of that

as for port side, my crew all rides normal so I have not even tested starboard wave yet, plan to next trip out, just weight boat even and switch gate from side to side depending on rider preference, that is part of why this is so much better than leaning the boat

I was able to get on the water but did not have a lot of time for testing and wasn't able to ride. But below are a few pics with full ballast: 2 750's in rear lockers, center tank full, bow under seat sac full, 200 lbs lead in nose.
