    WS-420 Throttle Location Install

I have seen pictures on the Earmark site under the install section where they have mounted the WS-420 near the throttle, on that plate that holds the bilge pump switch that gives power to the dash.

    It Looks really CLEAN!!!

Has anyone installed it like this? Is there a bracket that needs to be built?

I installed my 420 right where your talking about. My boat is a 2007 236 team. You will have to cut out the area and trim the bilge switch backing. I actually moved my switch and light over a few inches. You need to make sure you put some type of waterproof barrier on top as water can get into that compartment from the cup holder and the hydrogate area. I also moved my sub like the 2009 model has. It sounds great, of course I added 2 new Wetsound amps as well so that may be a little reason why it sounds so much better. Pics below.

That is exactly what i want to do, and I have the same exact boat, just diffrent color. I have not taken that plate off yet to look behind it so this may seem ike a stupid Question. Is there something inside there to support the 420? How difficult was the install?

Stop thinking about it and do it! It is an awesome upgrade and not a terribly expensive one.

well, i ended up purchasing a new box anchor instead. the WS-420 is next on the list. i'm going to detail my boat this weekend and check out how I have everything wired and what amps I have and then figure out how to rig up the 420. hopefully, i can order it this weekend also.

No, I had the sub enclosure custom made in Houston. The panel actually never came off. The top where the hydrogate comes off with a couple of tabs and the drink holder comes out. I also took the 6.5" speaker out to get to everything behind the panel. Everything pretty much screws into the side panel. The sub actually sounds better than it did inside the storage compartment. PM me if anyone has more questions. Good luck!

I did the same install on my 08 210. To remove the panel you have to first remove the throttle lever. There is a small allen head screw on the underside of it and also a screw on the nuetral button. After you remove the throttle you just pull on the panel. I started on the top and worked my way around. It is held in place by those automotive style push pins. Once you remove the outer panel you can remove the grey colored plastic panel. It is held on by some small phillips head screws. Then you are ready to begin the fabricating. It is pretty easy, just measure twice and cut once to the size of your WS 420. I didn't really see anything behind that panel to mount the WS 420 to so I just made mine a snug fit and used a bead of silicone to hold it in place. Just make sure you let the silicone set up before you try mounting it back in. I also moved my master disconnect switch and light as previously stated. It is a fairly easy install. I don't think I have any pics of it but will try to get some for you.

Here is a pic of the plugs they use to hold the panel on. Whitelake carries them if any were to break.
