A Kicker KX700.5 One channel is powering the tower running at 4 ohms, one channel does the interior speakers, and the sub channel powers 2 10" subs. The tower speakers are underpowered being that the amp only does about 65W @ 4 ohms, but I can still here them just fine. If you put an amp with more power on them I don't see any reason why you would have any complaints with hearing them behind the boat.
Here is a post I made awhile back for a review I did on them. Check it out...
Maybe I just don't know what I'm missing but my MB Quart loaded B-530's get the job done pretty nicely. I'm starting to think that I'm just living in yesterday because I was the loudest on the lake back when nobody had towers or tower speakers and I was the only one. Guess its time to upgrade then....but I'll stick with the B-530's, thank you very much.
I bought a pair of Rubicon 450's and they work excellent. I've read that some aren't happy with Skylon but so far I like them. I bought my system used because I don't see $1900 worth of value in a pair of speakers.
you get what you pay for. and i've heard tons of different set ups and for those with factory towr speakers and/or amps that say you can hear it while you're riding i'd have to say ya you can catch some sound here and there, but you cant' hear shizzle. at 85' back 24mph i can hear everything crystal clear on my boat
I think everyone who is whining about an extra 300-600 dollars that they can't afford on high quality speakers is full of crap! Look in the mirror gentlemen, you own the nicest wake boat in the world (ranging anywhere from $30K to 80K), and your paying $4 a gallon every weekend to feed these gas guzzlers, and you are bitchin about a couple hundred dollars? If you are that tight with your money, tell me why do you own a Correct Craft? I must have missed the free Nautique day they had at the welfare office, give me a break!
damador, next time I need some financial advice on what to spend my money on, I'll make sure I come to you....unbelieveable! I guess I got lucky and got to the welfare office on the right day, I mean, how else could I afford a CC given that I didn't spend the money on our tower speakers?
Sinkoumn, I defintely understand that the horn loaded speakers are better a projecting the sound to the rider than regular car audio speakers. I was able to get a pair of Boss B530s with the MB Quart drivers at no cost and they serve our purpose just fine. Could the music be louder at 80 feet, sure, but they work pretty good and I'll make use of them until they crap out. No worries on the "that guy" point, I wasn't thinking that.
Mhayes, maybe you should take some financial advice from me after all. I just paid off an 08 210 with the coveted and ever so "expensive" Wet Sounds speakers, both at dealer cost, and i'm not even 30 years old! Sorry if all my posts offend you, but you have got to quit being such a pessimist.

LOL, actually your posts quite amuse me. You must be one of those guys that feels the need to share what most people consider personal information (read $) with everyone to make yourself feel better. Maybe in next post you can share a graph of your net worth by age
I wouldn't dare show you a graph of my net worth hayes, I wouldn't want you punching a hole in any of your sheetrock wondering why you didn't man up in your portfolio. Plus, I don't normally brag to make myself feel better, I just enjoy making fun of crybaby tightwads. Look on the bright side, at least the wake on a 2001 SANTE is still pretty darn good.
I would like to apologize to everyone for ruining this post due to my differences with the GA boy. He must still be upset that the Bulldogs' football team didn't make it to the SEC championship? Can't imagine why?
Back to original question. I think any brand tower speaker will sound good given the proper amplification and wiring, and will definitely rock out the boat. But if you are a serious RIDER, then you should fork out the extra cash and get a horn driven setup. The sound quality is superior and you can actually LISTEN to the music from 80 out.
No problem. Can you help a brother out? I want to add tower speakers. My system is the Clarion level two package (320 watt amp, sub, and 6 polk/momo speakers) Dunno what it would cost to have the dealer add "Tower Speakers Level 2" (per 2007 brochure: 2 twin barrel enclosures, 4 polk momo speakers with 160 watt amp) -- but is adding the Tower package a waste?
Is the issue with the polks that they don't last in the enclosures and are't built well enough? Does it need a better amp?
I thought about adding towers so we could hear tunes at the beach when anchored. 50 feet away - Polk Towers a waste for that? Is the 2008 equipment from the Nautique dealer any better? Can a better package be found for the same cost?
If I'm not mistaken, the factory Polk tower speakers are made by Titan towers. The quality of the speakers are probably average. You could probably hear them from 50 out without the motor running and with a better amp (Clarion amps suck, trust me). I don't recommend buying these from the dealer because they charge way too much for what you are getting. With the same amount of money, you could shop around for better quality amp and speakers. You can check out the 08 speakers if you go to Titan towers website, they just won't have Nautique logos on them.
Find out what your budget is and I can recommend something.
I got this from West Coast Correct Craft: Tower speakers on the 2007 would have been Skylon with the Polk/Momo. (On 2008 it is Titans.) They are discounting the Skylon twin barrel sets (four polk/momo speakers) for $999 and suggested a 240 watt Clarion amp for $200.
I understand from previous posts that they will not perform in the same league as Wetsounds or NVS:
One NVS Entity would cost $999 or a pair of NVS Addictions would run $1,295, plus amp. I don't have pricing on the Wetsounds.
At this price point, it seems like the sale price on the Skylon package a good deal?
I noticed on this thread that you have a similar boat to me. I have a 2001 Pro Air and am searching for a stereo for it. If possible, please provide pics of you boat or others you are aware of with good stereo systems. Anything you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
