Tell me what you think of this tower on my 206

I know some of you will think its sacrilegious, since its not a FCT or New Diminsions. I usually think the same thing, but my buddy suggested we hold this up and see what it looks like. I'm honestly thinking about it, but was curious what the in crowd thought.

We really use the tower to hold our bimini, and pull kids learning to ski. No one in the family wakeboards.......yet.

So let me hear what you think.

Any reason why it's so far forward, I've always tried to center them where the tow point is as close to stock as possible? Does look pretty good even though I'm not a fan of that design, but that's more for function than for looks.

I don't like it but it is WAY too far forward as noted above. It needs to be far enough back so that a straight boom can go out the side.

        Can you try again?

will your boat handle the point load? I would imagine the new boats are reinforced to handle the concentrated loads. Do like the look but it is too far forward

I love it!! I was looking for a spider tower a while ago but opted out because of how low it is. That looks akin to a spider tower only taller!!! I want one too. Details..details. $$$? manufacturer?

Good question as I would be pulling 2, sometimes 3 footers on long line. Im skiing a 196.

Isn't that the Monster MTK?? Doesn't look to bad IMO. I think it mounts a little higher once you put the the mounting pads on. Someone put the MTK on a MC Tristar and it didn't do it justice.

Its the monster MTK, and retails for 1299.00. We were just messing around, its for another boat at his shop. I like the price, and the look is better than I thought it would be. It may be a little far forward, I was thinking about short line skiers and keeping the rope off the tower legs, and it allowed for other options on bimini's. I'm not a fan of over the tower bimini's.

I was at New Diminsions a couple weeks ago and talked to them about a tower, and surprisingly they did not have a pattern for a 206. We tried a 2004 196 and a 2005 216 but neither fit like it should.

i just put a new diminsion tower on my 2005 196. i will post pics later when i get more time. i can tell you the material were you are going to mount that tower is thick , but is going to flex a ton. that part of the boat is like a C channel with no suppport on inside. the top is going to flex back and forth. have wayne make you the correct fitting for a little more money, you will be happy you did.

Make a deal with ND to pattern a tower on your boat! I agree with a previous poster on the deck supporting that tower in one spot, plus my neighbor with a Sea Ray Sundeck just had that tower installed on his boat!
                          Just say NO! :-)

I think I'm leaning towards the ND, I like the looks of the Monster, but not sure about the installation and durability.
