I wouldn't send any money unless you're sure you're talking to Brent. It wouldn't surprise me that of his "roommates" might be posing as him. To be clear - this is just my opinion. I have no proof any of this is accurate.

No way would I try that - you have no idea what his skills are, or even if he is legit. Unless he will let you pay after you see an acceptable product

If you want to try to get the current scoop on Brent, call Cory at Evolution Covers. He knows Brent, his challenges and was sort of a 'good guy' trying to help him out as he could. He didn't have a pattern for my boat or I think I would have ordered from him.

With the type of issues Brent has had you can expect anyone returning email from his company to be suspect and any money you send them to be gone without any hope of seeing anything back. No way would I send a grand to someone related to his company. Heck, over the last couple years I wouldn't have sent any money to Brent, just read through the thread. At this point you should consider any funds sent to him to be lost and not complain about losing them if you do.
Brent was the company, if he's not able to make the cover for you then you're taking a huge risk placing any orders or sending any money.

Cory didn’t have a pattern for my boat either, but I found somebody in the Nautique Owners FB group who was nearby and let him pattern their boat. The cover is ridiculously well-built and the fit is absolutely perfect. Can’t recommend Evolution enough.
