I think Brent is a skilled craftsman who does great work. Not so good on business/time management. Extremely few people are good at both (and I think the majority of people are actually not so good at either).

I think if he could partner with someone to help on the business and time management side he'd have a winner of a business.

My experiences with him were OK from a business standpoint but the covers are excellent. The one for our SV211 is I think about 15 years old and only needs to be replaced because it rubbed up against our lift for a few weeks. It's been on/off maybe 20-40 times each year. It will be replaced with another from Brent this winter. No other cover I've seen compares in design or quality of workmanship.

Great cover. Terrible customer service. Got my cover for my 97 Nautique after a few weeks. Said he had one in stock but still took 3 weeks to ship out. Wouldn't respond in reasonable time (days). Complained about cost of shipping and then said he had covid. DO NOT SEND HIM FULL PAYMENT!!!

I just placed an order with Brent last week.

Reasons I am prepared to take a bit of (possible) bad with the good?

I have until next spring so I'm not really in a rush.

Brent said he could get it to me in 3 months. That will be just fine, and 5 months would be OK as well.

I have seen nothing but praise for the quality of the work.

My boat is one that he already has plans for (2005 SV211).

I read someone say there has never been a case where money was paid but no cover was produced.

I would be more upset if the product I got was not great, and then had to deal with trying to return it, than if the product is a bit late getting here.

Post an update when you get it! I got mine 3-4 years ago and though he was not quick, I was in a similar situation as you (and expected that), and I am continually impressed by the cover.

I have similar expectations. Let me know how the cover is when you receive it.

That's great to hear. I ordered a few months and am excited to receive it. Question, does the cover secure under the rub rail?

Assuming his covers haven't changed, yes they do via 'J' hooks at various points on both sides (like in this image). Click image for larger version

Additionally a drawstring runs the entire circumference and holds them snug under the rub rail.

                    Yeah, what he said. :)

I had a link to a Youtube video that Brent sent me on how to install the cover, but it appears that the video is no longer there.
