Your boat looks great. I'm doing the same to my 95 sport and I'm just starting on it. I want to powder coat all of the polished parts as well, how did you remove the front back rest and front grab rails. thanks for your input.

Just about finally finished. Need to fasten the front bow cushion, and top off the transmission oil and she is all set for the water. Fresh air exhaust is still in the works but i am very happy with how everything turned out so far. Got few changes to make come next winter, but for now she is ready for another summer of fun. As soon as she goes in the water, trailer is the next thing to be refinished.

Keep up the good work! If you're going to put graphics back on it, have a look at the '99 Super Air graphics, very "retro" but look cool on these boats.
Like the black pc, what level of sheen did you go with?

1997 super sport nautique resto-mod
So I picked up a super sport this spring and absolutely love it. I put roughly 125-150 hrs on it in 3 months. It has been used and abused but i am slowly bringing it back to life. I started off by removing all the decals to wetsand and buff the hull. This winter I removed everything on the top half of the hull to wetsand/buff and bring the white back to life. While i was in there i decided to get all the chrome accents on the boat powdercoated black. The boat came with half of the interior recovered so I am having the few remaining panels redone this winter also. Lastly i wanted to clean up the dash by removing the beat up and faded fake carbon fiber panels with some real carbon fiber. The perfect pass gauge decided to crap out on me so i picked up a yellow Mastercraft gauge for $60. A .99 cent sticker took care of the yellow. Ill have newer pictures as the as i the remainder of the parts come in.Last edited by orzech; 12-05-2012, 10:27 PM.Tags: None
