2016 200 no-start from keypad. (HOW TO TEST BOAT HARNESS?)

Hi guys. I'm trying to get help here because I am quite at loss with this one. I did find the approximate engine service manual, and was able to start the engine with the boat harness disconnected. I put 12v on the ignition wire and it cycled the fuel pump, then I put 12v on the starter solenoid and it started, ran fine.

So when I try to start it from the keypad it does next to nothing. Sometime it clicks (not the starter). I have checked the lanyard. Also when I tried to check it with DIACOM, it did NOT work. Actually it worked once. Then stopped working. It was a sort of intermittent problem, I mean, when I first started diagnosing it, it would start for a second. But now nothing. I did clean all engine grounds, and battery connections, check all boat harness plugs..

I do not know how to test this control for safety neutral switch, being an electronic control with a 6 pin plug. And also I might be wrong, but I think the fuel pump should cycle even if the boat was in gear?

I have no clue how to test the boat harness, I do not know what happens when I press the start button, therefore I don't know what to check.

I hope this makes sense to anyone trying to help. thank you.

Has the Throttle Base Assembly unit behind the throttle handle been replaced? Known issue, when they fail your boat won’t start because it thinks it’s in gear when it’s not. Happened on my 2018, there are threads on this site and Ball of Spray on how to replace it.

Thank you jmo. I will look into your post and take notes. I winterised the boat and shrinkwrapped it for the winter.. we are over our heads in storage now so will look into it again in the spring.

I am back at it, so far am trying to get the engine to work with the remote start harness, to bypass the boat harness. At first it wouldn't do much, and per troubleshooting charts I figured that the ground was not going through the safrety neutral switch to the starter relay. I am now trying to understand how these two actuators on the transmission are suppose to work. If anyone has any pertinent information I am all ears. So far I do not know how they work, how they can be adjusted, tested, and also have not found any part number for them

Here is a picture I managed to find of a used tranny for sale, I circled the actustors that I am working with.

Those are the forward and reverse electric shift solenoids. I'm not sure what you mean about adjust them, there aren't any adjustments. They are controlled by the Throttle Base Assembly. If the boat won't shift into forward or reverse then there is probably a problem with your Throttle Base Assembly, They have nothing to do with starting the boat.
