    GT-40 High Temp

    GT-40

    Runs 200 Degrees F.

Checked sender - ~85 ohms with gauge reading ~200.

New hoses, new bowl/gasket on strainer, new 160 thermostat. Made sure no debris in tstat housing.

    In water runs 200 degrees.

Ran boat on hose to pressurize system to rule out air leaks. Still ran 200F.

Circulation pump? I'm not sure of the failure mode and have never replaced one.

Are you going by dash gauge or have you verified by an alternate method? Any difference idle temps vs higher rpm's? What boat/year?

The dash gauge corresponds to the ohm reading at the sender. Here is the link to the faria ohm/temp: https://fariabeede.com/site_manuals/IS0085_E.pdf

      Boat is a 2000 SN 196. ~850 hours.

I imagine that you already changed out the impeller and made sure that it sealed properly. You might pull the hose off of the intake side of the transmission cooler and inspect for blockage.

also, use a nut driver to tighten all hose clamps but use caution on the transmission cooler, I have seen the clamps over tightened and collapse the thin wall tubing

Try back flushing the cooling system. High likelihood you have debris in the system blocking waterflow.

Verify temp with an infrared at the sender or thermostat housing. IF the sender is bad it would rad a bad ohm reading. Good suggestions from JayG80; and JayG80; also.
