Throttle Control Position (TCP) replaced now my MIL light is on intermittently

Hi and thanks for any help.

The throttle control position sensor assembly (TCP) broke off and the boat went into limp mode. I replace the TCP and the boat appears to run fine, but the MIL red light is now coming on intermittently but mostly on.

Any idea if it's related to the TCP?

The boat is a 2007 SANTE 210

2007 was a transition year where boats later in the year were built with eControls ECUs. If your boat has an eControls ECU, and you replaced this part.

You need to have the ECU re-flashed. If you didn't, that's likely the problem.

I have a 2016 Sport Nautique that the neutral button no longer works. Is this the part I would need to change to repair that or is it the shift mechanism? I think I've seen both listed as the fix on this site. I know the shift lever deal is really expensive while this is under $350. Still not cheap but something I may remedy this spring if that's the case.

You need to replace the Throttle Base Assembly. The part you linked to your post. Your engine doesn't have a TCP, that is only on the boats that still have a throttle cable from the control lever to the motor.

I did replace the gauges with the Faria Gauge CONVERSION KIT for boats WITH Perfect Pass. FYI, that has worked great!

I wonder if it's related to the oil pressure gauge since the MIL light seems to go on when I increase the throttle speed and the oil pressure goes up. At idle, the oil pressure drops to about 40 psi and light goes off sometimes.

The temperature gauge seems to track correctly. It moves up as the boat idled longer.

Question, how is the ECU re-flashed? Is that a boat dealer shop thing?

You can either mail the ECU to PCM, or take it to a Nautique Dealer and have them reflash it. But before you do anything else, you should check and see if your boat has an MEFI or eControls ECU. What I'm talking about only applies to eControls ECU. What NautiqueJeff is talking about and the SLOW system is how the MEFI setup worked. If you're not sure how to tell, just post a picture of your ECU.

Yes, that's the ECU.

Thanks. So re-flashing the ECU is likely solution? Just to confirm, not the oil pressure or temperature sensor. I certainly wouldn't blame you if the light was still on after re-fflashing,

I still don't know if you have the eControls or MEFI ECU. Can post a photograph of the actual ECU on your engine. Make sure it shows any labels that are on the ECU.

It's a 5.7L Excalibur 330

None of that can answer the question. During 2007 some excalibur 330's where assembled with MEFI ECUs and some with eControls. The only way to know definitively is to see the ECU on the actual engine in question. If it's an eControls, then I think it's likely having it flashed will solve your problem.
