Hole shot/low end acceleration issues with PCM 343 in 2008 SANTE 220

My third season with my 2008 SANTE 220 and I’m having two issues with my PCM 343 (530 hours):

    1. Hole shot acceleration is terrible right now vs. past or even earlier this season
-doesn’t matter if I’m pulling wakeboarder, surfer, tube
    -ballast full or empty
-runs great at mid-top end…good responsiveness and no performance loss
-boat can be empty and it just doesn’t get out of the hole like it used to
-have upgraded the prop 3 yrs ago… no change there
-changed FCC filter and inline filter this past winter as part of winterization
-run through at least 3 tanks of fuel (50 gallon tank) this season

    2. Motor will stall when in reverse when I first launch the boat
-motor stutters and is hard to restart after it stalls
-only does this after launching and using a bit of reverse throttle
-anything than more than “reverse idle” will cause it to stutter/stammer/stall

My closest Nautique dealer is a 2 hour drive each way and is backed up. Any ideas on where I could start to diagnose and address issue?

Truly appreciate any advice and guidance the PN community can offer.

Plugs and wires were supposedly changed in 2018, but I didn’t verify. I can definitely start there and see if it helps. Can’t be any harder than the changing steering cable I did this past winter.

      Thanks Swatguy!

If you haven't already changed the cap and rotor I highly suggest getting one with copper electrodes. Most are aluminum and develop surface oxidation rather quickly. I think I got my last one at summit.
