2010 SANTE 210 starting poorly, running rough

hi - i'm posting because i have a problem and the local marinas say they cannot look at the boat for 2 months!?! it is a 2010 Super Air Nautique TE 210. it was having a problem starting last year. shop said it "started fine" when they winterized it and i guess did not do much more to look for the problem, despite me asking them to fix it,

now it is doing it again. last summer it seemed to be ok if i started it weekly. but then it would run roughly until we used it for a bit. this year we did not run it for the first month after we put it in. then when we tried last week, i thought it would never start. just cranked and cranked. had to press the button on the throttle to disengage transmission, and pushed the throttle all way forward and it finally caught. now it is a week later - just went out and was able to start it. so similar to last summer. and again it hunts and does not idle well until i run it around at high speed for a bit. in fact, today it died several times sitting at the dock until i took it out. you can see in the videos the rough idle at first, then the smoother one after use......

also have something new this year, which is a rattle when i engage transmission at slow speed. this noise also went away after i ran it around for 10 min.

i'd pay someone to fix it if i could find someone to pay. if i wait 2 months, i might as well just have them winterize it and put it away, since they will take weeks to fix anyway.

so hoping someone has some advice..... sorry if i am a bit clueless!

was afraid someone would say that. i was going to start with fuel filter and plugs. also noticed one of the spark plug wire tips is corroded where they join this manifold thing -. is that the distributor cap? it is behind the fuse block in the picture where all the spark plug wires attach.... it does not look like what i rememberer from my old cars.......any idea how i get it off?

I would do plugs too. All is easy.

woohoo! so fuel filter and plugs and it seems back to normal. plugs were it i think. a couple were corroded. shop did not have distributor cap but will be ordering that. thx so much for suggestions and getting me motivated to try it!

Nice glad you got it running better, My suggestion is to go ahead and replace the spark plug wires, along with the rotor and cap when you do that.

yep am ordering that stuff as we speak. given how little help marinas are here, i am thinking i will start winterizing myself and doing all these things every year. that is the basic problem. the marinas have no time to do anything beyond bare minimum. any good source for the procedures to winterizing one of these?

Do yourself a dollar favor and get plugs from an auto store. Will save you about $40 vs the dealer. When my 210 acts up I always start with the plugs and rotor and cap. Always fixes a stumble about every three years.

thanks - i do like that they were pre-gapped. i assume that is only true if you get the special PCM ones? it was amazingly expensive. $110 i think for the ";platinum". but that is everything on these boats!
