I used to believe that the orginal Fantastic was ok to clean the vinyl, but about two years ago, Correct Craft dropped the recommendation of its use to clean vinyl.
I do not know if Johnson and Johnson changed the formula, or if CC started to notice the damage it caused.
You can clean the vinyl with just about anything, and remove the dirt on it. Using the wrong stuff will remove the surface coat on the vinyl, and also remove the plasticizers in the vinyl, leading to premature cracking and hardening of the vinyl.
I was taught in High School that when people do not have a good argument, they will often resort to name calling.

Just because it says MARINE doesn't mean it's good for all surfaces. Would you spray it on MARINE amps, speakers, etc.?

Simple Green works great for taking off stubborn grime on gelcoat, clean grease and oil out of the bildge area, and yes I have been known to use it on my inrterior before with no noticable effects, but now I stick with vinyl cleaners and 303.

definitely not. i try to keep all liquid away from my electronics. i agree that after cleaning 303 is very smart to use. and for the bilge i usually go with bilge cleaner, glass windex nondrip, and that's about it

Rest assured that the word "marine" on a bottle of cleaner is there to increase sales, and/or justify a higher price.

I use Magic Eraser's all the time, and although they are a hyperabrasive, (actually they're just Melamine foam which you can get quantity's of, and just cut it up much cheaper) and could take some of the surface stuff off, I always use 303 aerospace right afterwords, and I've never had a problem. But then again I've only been using melamine for 19 years on my 1989, so it's not like I have much experience with it.

Hahaha.....I've used Simple Green to clean the interior of my boat for years and it still looks fine to me. I'll tell you what. That stuff will remove EVERYTHING and keep your boat smelling great  But then again, my boat is only 12 years old. You never know what the long term effects are going to be.... I also put my boat up once after a hard rain and left it - BIG MISTAKE! Same mildew issues for a couple years! I tried Fantastic, Magic Erasers, the amonia/hydrogen peroxide, etc. Nothing really got it all out. I then took my boat to a boat detailer on a local big lake (Lake Conroe) and he worked his magic! The entire boat (2000 Pro Air) looked like the day I bought it! I asked him and he said Comet works wonders. It has abrasive in it and bleach I think, so I'm very liberal with my 303 now, but I was about to replace the skins due to the ugly look of the boat interior.
2000 Pro Air Nautique - all black top and bottom with cream \"N\" logo. One of the first all black gelcoated boats in recent history I understand.
