    2006 AIR 210 Team Rebuild

    Hi all,

First post, but have been lurking for a while.

Will start this thread as a place to document the rebuild of our 210. Had since new and was delivered Christmas 2005. Was always a dream to own an OG 210 growing up wakeboarding so we pulled the trigger once Nautiques announced its final production year. Lots of great memories, and many more to come. Co-owned with my brother, and he is the chief in this project. I’m just the cheap labour.

pic of the day of delivery, was a nice Christmas present

Last day on the water before bringing home for the rebuild. Size difference to the new era of wake ship’s is huge.

Thanks mate, yes I’ll reach out when I need some goodies. Got my eye on a few things already.

Regarding the Easytow trailer. Yeah nah! It never did the boat justice and we’ll need to pump some serious money and effort into to get it up to spec.

We’re OG purist’s so keeping the original look and feel is top priority. However there are some planned improvements. Replace carpet with non-skid as the carpet has perished and just pulls out. The 06 model year, the vinyl wasn’t great like 2000-2003 era. So will get a retrim in ultra premium vinyl with some adjustments to things like the bolster/coming pads.
We also plan to extend the wrap around rear seating to behind the drivers seat. Again similar to a 2000 model.

Undecided on the hull side graphics, will probably have something made up similar to what’s on it or possibly 2003 style from domed numbers.

Engine has 1000 hours and has some rust which will need cleaning up, but runs great so just some cosmetic things to tidy up. It does have an oil leak which will need attending to. Also the v-drive seals are likely shot as the oil turns to a milkshake.

Overall the boat is in excellent shape and a good starting point.

Started removing the interior and pulled some of the carpet out. The floor under the carpet doesn’t look great.

Preparing the engine for removal so we can tend to the oil leak. Rear locker floor is even worse condition than the cockpit. Will require a lot of rework to prepare for the non-skid.
removed the fuel and belly ballast tanks. Separated the v-drive and took that out too, so it can be sent off for new seals.

We removed the rub rail as it was a little banged up. Also the deck had some buckling from when it was installed at the factory so we’re looking to rectify that at the same time. Removing the screws from the deck join was enough the straighten the deck. The screws had caused the warping as it pulled the deck to the hull. Pulled the windshield off and put away in a safe location.

Engine is out now and we have better access to the engine bay an bilge for a tidy up. Engine rails and mounts need a lot of work, and we’ll order new isolators for the mounts as they are flogged.

With the screws removed there wasn’t anything holding the deck down, so we lifted it up a bit to allow the removal of the carpet in the bow and better access for the first round of glue removal. There was also something wet and funky under the walk through that needs inspecting….

Going to be good fun project… and well into it by the looks of it.

Eva flooring in this era of boat is a huge job to do to an OEM standard, hour upon hour of levelling, radiusing corners, matching heights in floor pieces etc, hovwever done right the results can be amazing.

I liked the white on the Easytow rather than the black ( I’m a fan of white trailers ), what issues have you had with it? Sounds like your not a fan? Is it a roller and skid trailer or just skids?

any plans for an internal freshen up of the 6.0?

oh have some ultra cool White on white Late model Super Air Nautique “chromax “ decals that would look really really nice on the side of you OG!

who are you trusting our vinyl work too?
