Final filler for the side of some low spots, and another full sanding in 40grit.

We won’t add the belly tank back in, we’ll convert it to a storage locker. So we glassed in a bulkhead to keep that area clean and dry from the bilge.

When adding the bulkhead, it was pretty sloppy under the drivers seat pad. There was a thin layer of foam between the floor piece and stringers that had started to perish as it was exposed to the bilge. In the seat pad there was a weird little piece of board to stop the foam escaping. Decided to cut it off and will add a seat pedestal instead.

Added two layers of chop to the floor and did some leveling to a few spots

We wanted a nice finished look to the cockpit so we whipped up a new hatch, floor and love seat in CAD. We need the floor pieces so we can get started on the floor edges.
Sent the models to the mill to make our molds. Then glassed them up, ready for another few hours of sanding.

Getting close to thinking about spraying, so we tested our matched Silver Cloud and the new gun. The Hue is spot on just needs some white to lighten it off. Looks purple against the white flow coat.

Test fit of the new floor prices and first round of getting the edges where they need to be. Also glassed in some aluminum plate under the old seat base.

Mixed resin and q-cells into and nice foamy consistency and spread that over the floor as a filler. Then sanded and did another round on the edges. Coming along nicely.

Did another round of resin and q-cells on the floor and then a solid full boat 40grit then 80grit in preparation of a full spray in flow coat.

First coat of flow coat. Went on decent and pretty thick. Quite a lot of pin holes, which we can at least see now. Will run some filler over them before doing and full 80grit sanding
