The hydraulic ram that raises and lowers the rear hatch is the biggest pain in having full-sized dividers. If you’re pulling that out to do a 3-piece anyway you’ll be saving a lot of headache there.

I'm sure I will struggle. I dont have any engine dividers currently. I'm also going to divide the rear single hatch into a 3 hatch system. I've got all the hardware I just need to build and attach the support beams and then wait until I'm ready to do the upholstry.

Looks good! Yeah, ski locker is square in a 95. I traded my 95 Super Sport in for a 230 last year but if you have any questions specific to that boat and year let me know. I have a thread on ballast install somewhere here if you’re looking to do that and haven’t already. Not a bad time while everything is apart anyway.

Ballast is next. I have the pumps but nothing else. Shoot me the link if you can find it.

Did you have to modify the tower to make it fit?

Yes. The tower is a g23 tower and was chopped and welded to fit. When this is all done I may get it powder coated. My trouble now is finding a way to fit an OEM Nautique Bimini... The issue is everything that fits the g23 tower is far too wide...

Day 3 part 2

The main cabin floor has been completely sanded. Here is a photo. Still deciding what to do with the side walls. I've cut the carpet to just past the kick plate under the driver seat. Not sure what to do there either. Also attached are a few photos of the board that sits above the gas tank.

Day 2

I spent about 1 hours sanding with a drill and wire bristle wheel. I ran out of batteries and had to leave to borrow some from a buddy to keep me moving forward. I want to go over the floor with some acetone and then I'll upload some photos of the 1st round of sanding finished.

Day 3

I spent about an hour with the drill and a electric sander 220 grit paper (wet) sanding down the ski locker. I was Surprised to find my ski locker actually quite square after reading so many posts that it wouldn't be. I may change my mind when I toss it back in the boat but not as much patch work will be needed in my opinion that I had anticipated. So... i tossed it in the boat. The issue now is the height and width of the board being much smaller than the spot it sits in. Photos attached. Not sure if I should try to build it up or make a new board.

1995 Super Sport Restoration:

I've got a laundry list of things I want to do to this boat, time and money willing. Would love your feedback and opinions on the updates as they come.

1) Rip out the carpet and put some sort of seadek in. (Heavily considering Aqua Marine Deck which was half the price)
2) Update the Upholstry
3) Split the rear hatch into 3 sections and use gas shocks
4) Reconfigure the sidewalls. I'd like to slim down the chunky 90's look
5) Install a ballast system. 3 to 4 sacs total
6) Update the Sound system to include 4 new cabin speakers, 2 tower speakers, and a sub
7) Powder coat everything!


Step 1:

Remove seat bases, carpet, and ski locker. The ski locker was by far the hardest. The inside of this area was wet, moldy, and extremely difficult to reach. It was likely assembled before the the top deck was attached. 3/8 mm and Phillips head did the trick with an extention. 4 bolts per hinge.I also started a little glue removal not seen in photos.

3 hours of work thus far.
